My wife and diet pills???

Hello everyone. I'm posting this up for my wife. At the moment we're both trying to drop our bf%. We both work out, do cardio, and eat pretty clean but i'm gonna start a cutting cycle real soon. My wife had to remove one of her kidneys a few years back because it was functioning, so of course she only has one left. We were wondering if it's safe for her to take any kind of diet pills...like hydroxicut, xenadrine, or anything else. Thanks.

I dont see why not, just make sure you drink lots of water as Im guessing she only has 1 kidney left.

good luck,

oh and I think you mean Malfunctioning...

My buddy who works in a dyalisis clinic is going to chip in in a second... he knows what to do :-)

he is the kidney guy!

haha thanks man...now there is pressure...they don't know that i am the janitor there j/k

I assume that when the first kidney was removed they made sure that the remaining one was functioning as it should? If not then your wife probably does not want to consume anything not recommended by her doctor or renal dietitian

If the remaining kidney is healthy, make sure that she is not hypertensive, because many diet pills can increase BP (chronic hypertension is the second leading cause of renal failure) granted that diet pills would not cause chronic hypertension but just make sure that she is good from the start... also, like tank said, drink lots of water because most diet pills can act as diuretics

lastly, never underestimate the fat burning power of a good diet and exercise regimen...and absolutely talk to her doctor before she uses anything like that, dialysis, while lifesaving is not something you guys want to endure...and I am also pretty sure there aren't any nephrologists on the board so the advice of one would be sought over anything we post

good luck
