I'm pretty sure its just a "the least you can do" type of thing.
It's the same as in a regular market. YOu don't know what you buy, you ask the vendor. Whether they lie or not, the least they can do is tell you what they're selling.
It's a quick filter for 16yo "scientists" if nothing more, they are scare to get it tested.
