Hi folks

Wanted to get some data points from those who’ve used Nabivolol on or off cycle.

How much does Nabivolol lower your resting heart rate by on or off cycle ? What dose do you take ?

For me it’s between 10 and 20 points on 5mg daily

thanks

I'm completely unaffected by nebivolol resting heart rate reduction lol

On nebivolol or off nebivolol stay the same. Peak heart rate I believe it gets reduced, like if I start running it takes me a lot of efforts to go past 135/145

But rest heart rate don't see any significant changes..I would kill for a 10 point reduction or a 20 point reduction

What's the max dose you tried? Have you tried other beta blockers? Also, what's your RHR when you're completely calm, like in the morning or before bed?

I started taking 5mg a week ago and it gets me an average 6-7 beats less.

5mg made my RHR going from 90-100 to 60-80 within two weeks.

no i don't wanna try any other betablocker. I want to use nebivolol because of all the other benefit, plus no side effect, very selective etc.

My RHR when calm is high. I have always had a high one like 80-85 on average. I have 92-95 now.

I never tried 10mg of nebivolol as I don't want to hinder too much my performance when I want the HR to increase properly.

Do you do cardio?

each 2.5mg brings mine down like 10bpm. I went up to 7.5mg but it lowered my BP too much because I already take valsartan.

i take 1.25mg in the evenings now.

i have a naturally high heart rate and I was prescribed metoprolol extended release for awhile and I think that definitely affected mood and energy

You would probably be OK. I take 10mg and I don't get any performance effects that I can notice vs 5mg. It is still considered heart specific at that dosage.

2.5mg/day brought me from 80 down to 68-70. I also had a lot of bounding pulse, it’s been eliminated completely. I also have spells of PVCs. While I can feel them trying to start, there’s a correlation between me taking nebivolol and not having any PVC episodes. So, it’s a winner, especially coupled when the LVH mitigation. I take that with 40mg/day telmisartan as well.

Guess it is different from body to body and I have not experimented going more than 5mg Nebivolol a day.

I have a more elevated resting heart rate in general (my thyroid levels are pretty high) and Nebivolol doesnt do much, but I primarily take it to reduce extra systoles I may get from time to time.

Based on my own experience, Propanolol or Metoprolol (succinat and tartrat vary in the dosage!) work better to reduce it by itself, but for me personally Nebivolol helps me better with my symptoms without the nasty side effects you may get from higher doses of Bisoprolol e.g.

I guess it as it is with most things, receptor sensitivity and subjective "tolerance" to some effects/medications vary from person to person.

Propanolol e.g. even works best for me in stress situations since it kinda shuts off the sympathic effects in the moment your adrenaline goes up. However, I do belive Nebivolol is perhaps the best beta blocker when it comes to reducing PVC or any other kind of extra systolic activity.

For those with PVC and other arrythmic issues, try to find out when it tends to occur, especially in correlation of your electrolyte intake. I personally noticed I had way more issues when my potassium levels were on the lower end of the ref range. But still this was not the only factor, but an important one.
For these issues I can recommend (also subjective) ubiquinol (CoQ10) even tho it might appear expensive - especially during exercising there is a clear difference for me.

Perhaps it helps someone out here.

Shout out to @My.Name.Is.Jeff for bringing Nebivolol to the bodybuilding community in 2017.

For me, 5mg lowers my RHR a bit, while 10mg has a stronger effect. I’m cautious about going too high with this because it can be too potent at lowering my blood pressure if I’m not careful.

Did 10 lower your HR much more or was the r effect mainly on BP?

With me, I don’t too much lowering of BP
Because I’m on 80mg Telmisartan, but Nabivolol does prevent BP spikes from stressful events like if I get little sleep
