Necessary to have filler in cap?

Depending on the size of cap, and how much active ingredient you want you may end up with a lot of empty space.

Depending on how you cap, I use a capsule machine, you may crush the capsules trying to close them with out the caps being filled to the max.

For e.g. if you fill a size 1 capsule to max capacity, depending in the powder density it can hold anywhere from 280 mg to 580mg.

Size 4 caps 120mg to 240mg of powder.

So if you fill caps to the max with active ingredient you may not be able to dose the oral the way you want.


So it depends on how much active ingredient you plan on using. If you don't plan using a filler, maybe look into making suspensions instead of capsules.

Ok well I’m filling them to 40 mg size zero. I have a ton of empty space but have not crushed or destroyed the caps just wondering if this will work the same as having them filled with filler.

Yea. If you can handle the capsules fine with just 40mg then it's not a problem

Whats the point of even capping them at all lol ... if your going to weigh each and every dose and then cap it why not just weigh the dose out on the scale and put it right in your mouth and be done with it lmao ??? Weighing out each dose and handfilling a bunch of caps one at a time completely defeats the purpose of capping ....

Well he can't carry his scale and a bag of powder with him on holidays or to work or whatever.

Well I’ve capped 6g so far and took a random sample of 15 and I’m within 3 mg of each pill not including capsules weight error. It’s a slow process but I’m in no hurry and do a gram a night and by the time I’m ready to jump back on, I’ll be set. Thanks for Answering my questions first time with anything raw. Oils will be next
