need help with calfs

have you seen a cyclist's calves? high volume high rep work is the way to go if you are a not a mesomorph.

Also steroids have an exagerated effect on the calves so the steroid trained mostly trainer to the mostly un steroid trained trainer has no real world advice to give in my experience (my claves grow like holy fuck on gear)
I just increased my intensity ... up the reps but pushing to failure .. or at least until my calfs burn so much,i can't take it

Mine are a work in progress. I started really working them 2-3 months ago. I use heavy enough weight to do 75-100 reps within 4 mins. I move up the weight when I reach 100 reps. I do that Mon-Wed-Fri every week and vary the type of calf exercise. On Tues and Thurs I do jump rope. I am taking measurements and seeing some good progress.

I am 5 foot 9 and a half and my calfs are 14 and a quarter, i have decided to go with the 5 5 2 times a week and then try a high rep workout and see what works best for me. It comforts me to know that im not the only one with pencil calfs and i can sympofise  :(, when i walk around with shorts on i have i serious complex. I will sort them out for this summer:o. this is my first time on this site and my first post and i look forward to gettin some good advise.

I really think the heavy weight was working even with low calories and now that i raised my calories for bulk,i will deffinitely be going heavy

i'm not sure i completely understand the tibia raises could someone elaborate. My bi's-tri's, quads, chest and shoulders are big but my neck, fore arms and calfs are skinny. I am going to do the 5x5 and see what happens for my calfs. Could someone explain the tibia raises. I also don't get what a donkey calf raise is. I was told that you put weight on your back but i'm having trouble picturing how to actually perform the excersize.

i use a hack squat machine to do my calf raises. just go as far down as you can till your toes are about to slip off and then back up as high as you can almost to your tippy toes and hold it, the key for me is to do all of this very slow. feel the burn. i do about 3x12 my calves hurt for 3 days after i do them almost every time. use heavy weight

Heavy weight to me is 5 reps and under so if i go slow i will probably get 2 reps. I use a steady pace and i am now using the whole rack with donkey raises. My strength is crazy so i need more protein. I was trying to get away with it as i was seeing suck a change the last few months in my body but now i just need the protein. It's not easy. I don't know what to eat that i will stick with because i won't eat crap.

donkey machines have a pad the weight is attached to (in plates used with pins to change weight) that you put on your back while bending in an "L" shape at the waist and you just push up with your calfs .. let me see if i can ... http://i23.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/8c/c5/89_1_b.JPG you put your butt toward the plates, your arms on the front pad for support and the top pad goes down on your lower back
