Hey guys, I registered a while ago but couldnt post because of some techinical error but the admin has fixed it so here I am.

I am 21 years old, have been bodybuilding for 5 years (3 of which I focus alot on nutrition and proper training) and a natural. I have been experiencing quite a few symptoms of hypogonadism, hypothyroid and related issues. In May i got the results I asked my family doctor for and my free testosterone was 15.2 on a range of 19-94. He then put me on to an endocrinologist and finally today (after symptoms still continuing and getting worse) I got the results back for a test he ran. Now he doesnt seemed too concerned (except possibly for T3 which he wants to test again in 2 months) but I think given not only the symptoms I have been having and my relatively low scores on the test (look at T3, Testosterone (free and total), DHEA, and GH) that at the least more tests should be run.

I have attached a copy of my blood test. I would really like some help in understanding this and figuring out what to do next - im kind of confused.

Thanks

I think that you are misreading your lab results.

Your total testosterone is 15.2, range 6.0-30.0
Your free testosterone is 28.1, range 19.0-94.0
TSH is 3.66, range 0.30-4.70 (this is too high, even though it is in range!)
Free T3 is 1.9, range 2.5-5.7

I'm not going to say that you wouldn't benefit from HRT, but I doubt that your endo is going to give it to you. Endocrinologists tend to be very incompetent in identifying and treating hypogonadism. You might actually have better luck with another local physician. Or if you can get to East Lansing, MI then SWALE will take care of you.

But you do need to get this thyroid situation worked out. Endocrinologists are usually able to handle thyroid issues pretty well.

BTW: Are these labs from your physician or your endo? Did both of them run labs?

The first free testosterone test was through my doctor and the more indepth one in the jpg i posted were the tests my endo ran.

Your E2 Estradiol is <90 they did the wrong test and if you are high on this it can be your problem. Read this link.

Men high on E2 and getting it down there Total and Free T went up 200 to 300 points. Read the sticky on Testing.

ya, when i asked for the estradiol test i didnt know about specifying ultra sensitive at that time.
Thats another reason I want to have some more tests done, to test a few other things that werent tested in this one (DHT, Estradiol, IGF-1). Im probably going to have to find another doctor to get those tests done

Shared symptoms

You should be aware that many symptoms are shared between hypothyroid and hypogonadism. You should make sure you figure out why your FT3 is low. You definately did the wrong E2 test, but you know that already. ;)

I had it done at approximately 10 am (having eaten 11:15 pm the night before)

How much does weight training affect this and other things? Because just the day before I trained shoulders and quads.

Hgh

Your HGH was a bit on the low side. But HGH has a very short half life. So if you want to be sure that you're not HGH deficient, you should ask your endo for an ITT (Insuline Tolerance Test). It is the only way to be absolutely shure about your HGH levels.
Rgds,
Axl
