Need urgent help with training a client!

Bros, I am a personal trainer(independent) and my training style is hardcore/sadistic.I just got referred to this client who is a 23 year old female and trying out for the Navy. She needs to drop 10 lbs (water weight is fine) by Monday.I can't just say diuretics cause she is willing to pay up to $200/hour for a 1 hour session. She also wants to train 2 hours a day.No idea about her previous weight training experience but I am supposed to meet her tomorrow and she is bringing $1200.What should I do? Diuretics are the answer but I also need to train her for that money.I am more than willing to do that but what should her diet be like? Should she drop the water 24 hours before the test? Should she drink up to 3 gallons in between? Will she end up in a hospital after 3 hour training sessions(one in the morning and one at night). Please help!

Well, if you're trying to take 10lbs off in ten days.. you could very well land her in the hospital. Why is it so urgent that she lose 10lbs in less than a week? Why did she wait untill the last minute?

I mean there is always, a very restricted diet, Laxatives, and diuretics (I doubt less than one week's training will aid here in her weight loss.) but even so, I'd be very skeptical of expecting those kind of results.

This is something you really need to think about... If you screw up you could seriously hurt this woman. I know she is offering you some good money, but weigh it out against everything before you accept.

Lack of preperation on her part does not constitute an emergency on yours... In other words, she had no right to expect a miracle, and 10lbs in 6 days would certainly qualify as a miracle... IMO it's too risky, I would pass on the money and tell her to try and delay her entry for atleast a month.

Take care,

Bro, I realize that losing 10 lbs of fat would be a miracle but she would be satisfied with losing water weight for 1-2 days.I told her that there's zero guarantees that it will happen but she still wants to go along with it.I guess her physical exam(or whatever the fuck it is) is next Mon.If she misses that, she will have to wait till next year and she doesn't want to do that. How would you train her and what diet would you put her on? She will go along with it regardless, she'll just hire a different trainer. Is there a way to lose 10 lbs of water?

I agree with Phreezers sentiments.

I would train her fairly basically, and get her on a fairly low carb diet. 40-60g per day should be enough to help her maintain her energy and intensity while still allowing her to drop some water weight. Its not likely that she can drop 10 pounds of water (even I normally only drop about 4-7 pounds), but it would get her closer.

While on this restricted diet, dont push her super hard in the gym. She wont have the energy to go for marathon sessions of hardcore training. $200/hr is great, but you are responsible for her health. A mild diuretic like caffeine might help a little bit.

Being that she's a woman this may be more difficult. In fact, it may not be possible, though I'd imagine she could pull it off. Other women do.

Tell her she's about to become a wrestler for a week. No more than 1/2 lb of food(preferably stupid shit like salads and maybe some Ramen or something) per day. Water should be only what is essential. Dry mouth and complete hunger/discomfort should be constant.

On top of this, we have...dum, dum, dum, dum!!!....SAUNA WORKOUTS! Push ups, sit ups, running in place in a very hot sauna will do wonders. Of course, this is after running her ass off and, preferably, actually wrestling and/or boxing to get some serious sweat/calorie burning going.

Quite frankly, she'll probably be too depleted to do well on her PT, but the method can get her there.

Thanks to everyone who replied.I don't know whether she has the discipline to do that but that's really up to her.I'll let you guys know what kind of shape she's in after today :D I have been training for 11 years and can't hardly imagine working out for more than 2 hours a day and that's INCLUDING cardio.Normally I wouldn't even train someone like that but I can't turn that money down...and who would?

$200 is alot of money for one training session...what area do you live in bro. PT runs around $20-$30 an hour here...only people i know that I would spend that type of money on is Poliquin, Chek, King, Francis etc...are you that good or is that just the average price where you live? This is not an attack on you just can not believe you get that much for one session.

:D Nah bro, I charge my clients $35-45/hour and I am in San Francisco.I asked for that amount cause I knew they were rich and it was a matter of urgency. As far as my being good..I think I am but I am not Poliquin or Nichols so I don't prepare people for precontest. Here's an update on that chick:
She is 5'6, 178 and never trained before in her life. She basically started passing out on me during the first 20 min and that's just with calisthenics. So she left and then when she came back, I told her that even though I need dough just like anyone I am not willing to kill her in the process. So she should do it the right way and train for several months. She said she'll think about it and left.I might have lost the money but I feel like I did her a favor by not killing her :) She buys sessions for $50/hour like I offered - great. If not, I got plenty of other clients.

Your a good man bro.

Turning down the money might have been hard but as you know, if she's got the $200.00 per hour, she's 'prolly got one hellava mean assed attorney right behind her. Bumps to you bro.

Peace,

T.R.

The thing I don't get about this is how the Navy wasnt involved in helping her get into shape for her physical. When my boy went into the Marines in March they worked with him for 3 months doing everything that was going to be on the PT test so he could easily pass it.

Thanks man :) Of course I could have let her do some stupid swiss ball bullshit but I can't compromise my integrity and plus I am known to be a harcore trainer in the gym and that would fuck me up in the long run.
I think they have a different system for getting you ready to join the Marines as opposed to the Navy, though I am not certain.I do have insurance to train but I still don't need someone to die on me in the gym. That would probably turn away my existing and potential clients :D

What I'm wondering is how on earth she expects to do her best for a PT test when she's dehydrated and carb depleted! Yeah, great, you dropped 10 lbs of water, and during the test you hit a wall after 40 minutes cause you have no water or glycogen. Strenght AND endurance would be way down, and there could be a real risk of cramps dropping that much water that fast.

This whole thing sounds goofy. Why does she need to lose 10 lbs for a Seal PT test? She'd have to be in amazing shape to pass the PT test dehydrated and carb/creatine depleted. And if she is, why does she need your help?!?

Seriously...I'd be careful. She might be a cop looking to arrest someone that will get her a quick fix. A police woman might be able to fake being in shape to try out for Seals.

If not, she's very dumb.

She's not a cop since her references are solid. She is out of the picture after I told her to do it the right way with multiple training sessions. She clearly hated my guts when she came back(had a major attitude), then she offered me money for my time(actual time I spent with her was 25 min).So I only took $50 and said I had to go.I probably should have taken more but fuck her and her money. As far as AAS...she needs them like I need extra estrogen :D The bitch is untrained, fat and her face looks like a pepperoni pizza.Could she be on dbol/test cycle? :p
