nervous about trt

Was anyone nervous about starting trt? I've put it on hold for years not just because of fear, but I don't think I'm ready yet. I'm battling alcohol addiction but my future dr thinks now is the time:

Good evening ****

Just speculating, your SHBG may well be elevated due to liver dysfunction from alcohol dependence, thereby exacerbating androgen insensitivity. The liver does has some regenerative capabilities, so removing the toxin and adopting a healthy lifestyle, with time, may lead to an improvement in liver function and subsequent reduction in your SHBG. I’m sure you are aware of supplements such as TUDCA & Liv52, but nothing really compares to a clean diet.

If we commence TRT, we will obviously keep a close eye on all of your parameters and adjust your TRT +- HCG dosage accordingly. Might I suggest thinking about TRT sooner rather than later, as optimising your testosterone may well help the psychological and physical attributes necessary to battle your addiction.

Good luck! Please do not hesitate to contact me here when you are ready.

Yup! I was
And I like a cold German beer also!
Create short goals of going without alcohol a few days and focus on diet and lifting.
Treat yourself but don't go overboard on a binge.
Slowly wean yourself off, away from alcohol.

As for the trt, my body is changing/adapting well to the workouts, but dealing with libido and ED issues...

My fear of trt was not being able to back out, and recover to where I was, if I decided that.
Getting a new trt doc and hoping we can figure out the libido and ED issues, otherwise I may be doing a safe backout, hopefully recovering to where I was.

What are you nervous about? What are your levels? What's your age?

IMO best to first try to recover natural Testosterone with HCG+Aromatase Inhibitor

it's an adaptation for sure. Luckily there's a lot of good information out there for general trt or alternative methods to meet your needs. Do your own research then ask your Dr. questions. The better educated, the less anxiety about it.
best luck on battling alcoholism

Been on it for a year. I started with 80mg of cypionate every 3-4 days. Now
I am on 115mg every 4 days. I feel amazing. The thing that makes the Test pop for me is the HCG. I took it for a few months without it and when I addded it WOW. HCG kicks in fast for me and I look forward to injection day. I feel amazing. I also take .25 of Arimidex every 4 days. I had to back off because my Estrogen got too low.

I'll piggyback on this response and also add that it definitely doesn't take much AI to stay in normal range. It's very easy to overdo it on AI's and drive your estrogen too low, then you feel all of the symptoms of no test again, it's all about that proper ratio

Thanks for the responses guys. Hebs, I was still a young lad back then. I've actually matured believe it or not.

I would highly suggest talking to a drug addiction counselor to see where they think you are at in your recovery.
Using one drug to substitute another may not be the best idea depending on where you are at in counseling. I had this happen from a doctor, who would not listen, putting a young guy on testosterone with highly addictive personality who was clean for heroin 6 months ended up committing suicide. Please consult your counselor..

I'm not rushing into trt yet. I am seeing a counsellor at my local alcohol services but she's a woman and doesn't have a clue about what symptoms i'm suffering from. I wanted to see a male but there are only female counsellors.
