Hi guys, I’m Ron — and yes, I’m an Iron-a-holic.

I first hit the forum scene back in 2001. I was a mod on AR and IBB in the early/mid-2000s, and a vet on MuscleSci, BB.com, and a handful of other boards I’m probably forgetting. Truth be told, I was just a straight-up post whore across a lot of forums back then.

Life pulled me away for a long time — messy divorce, raising two kids, and all the time and money that goes with that. Left the lifestyle got fat and weak for a few years. I did get to compete in two amateur shows before stepping away. Best showing was a 2nd overall at a small amateur show in SD.

Fast forward to now: Kids are grown. I’m 53 years old, sitting at 235 lbs and ~19% BF. Short-term goal is to cut down to around 12%, then slowly bulk while staying in the 12–15% range, ideally landing around 240ish and pushing strength as far as I can. I haven’t completely ruled out stepping on stage again, but at 30 years old, 6% was brutal — at 53 can’t imagine it gets easier. For now, I’m focused on hitting my current body comp and strength goals first.

I’ve been training consistently since I was 15, minus a short recent layoff. I’ve run several cycles over the years and used a wide range of anabolic compounds. Peptides are newer territory for me, but I’m diving in headfirst and learning as I go.

At the moment, I’m recovering from surgery and sidelined — about three weeks of forced rest so far. Hoping to get cleared by the doc this Thursday. If everything checks out, the plan is to start a cycle in January.

Glad to be back in the lifestyle and looking forward to contributing again.

Welcome (back)! Seems like you had a rough time, but your stats look good especially for someone your age. And its always nice to have people on here with a ton of experience too. Will be watching your new cycle in Jan!

Naw my life has been great. I wouldn't change a thing. The current situation has been a bit frustrating. Feel like I am back then the Doc says wait a minute. Minor speed bump though. I was cleared to go back to training today. Only one caveat, I have to get the dreaded colonoscopy. Scheduled on 12/29 and I hear the recovery is only 24 hours. Fun! Oh and I gained 10lbs in a month sitting on my ass and ignoring my diet. Not worried though it comes off just as fast.

Got my first colonoscopy last year- the bad part was staying up all night pissing out my ass. The good thing was they gave me the pills so I didn’t have to drink a gallon of yuck.

The actual procedure they put me out with the shit that killed michael jackson- a huge horse syringe filled with what looked like elmer’s glue. What a quick peaceful sleep, nothing like the ketamine and sodium pentathol they used on me last time I had screws and plates installed.

No butthole discomfort or fart fest when I woke up either

Good luck

Nice to meet you, good story, keep us updated on your recovery and progress!

Did you go by the same name on the other boards?

see you around!
