Hello everyone. I'm a 48-year-old raw powerlifter. I have been lifting since the age of 16, most of the time just to look and feel better but I have been competing for the past five years. I am nationally ranked with a double body weight bench and triple body weight deadlift which has been achieved without AAS.

I have cut weight to make the 181 division for the past several years and am looking to get away from that practice. I want to give AAS a run as I believe I'm getting very close to my genetic potential without any help, particularly at my age.

My walking around weight is currently around 191 pounds and I plan on really dialing in my nutrition prior to beginning a cycle which should leave me around 188 pounds giving me the ability to gain a solid 10 pounds on cycle and make the 198 weight class. The purpose for my cycle is obviously to maximize strength gains.

My pre meet training cycles last for 10 weeks and my thought process is to run my first AAS cycle for the same length of time.

I posted a proposed first cycle in the Steroid Forum but haven't gotten any feedback yet.

Ozzy, PI22, GR and Paul thanks for the welcomes guys. I have been reading various parts of the forum for the past month. Definitely a good source of information.

Here is what I was considering for a first cycle.

I'm looking at either Test E at 200 or 250mg x mon/thur. week 1-10 or maybe Test P EOD at 150 mg. week 1-10. I have read plenty on each but there seems to be conflicting viewpoints as to which is better for strength gains.

I will have AI if needed and will run nolva pct.

My current supplements include glucosamine/chon., fish oil, animal pak, creatine, protein powders and BCAA intra workout drink.

I train everyday during my meet cycle and my bench prep is the Bulgarian method of heavy benching each day which leads to some shoulder, wrist and elbow issues as I get close to the meet day so I can't use anything that dries the joints out or is otherwise tough on them.

Other than that I'm healthy, blood pressure is 105-70, cholesterol and sugar levels are good. I had a full tear of my left distal bicep tendon which was surgically repaired 18 months ago and two hernias which have also been surgically repaired, the most recent of which was seven years ago. No other major injuries or health issues and I drink very little so no liver issues.

Longer term my plan would be to do this cycle and then likely not do another cycle for approximately 18 months when I turn 50 and have a shot as setting some national records.

Any advice is welcomed and appreciated. I've done plenty of reading on this forum and some others but some information seems to conflict and I find in life learning from those with real world experience is usually a solid plan.
