Howdy everyone, this is my first thread so I'm hoping I'm doing this right. I heard it's customary to introduce myself so this is my post.
I started lifting around middle school because of sports, but I was always the kid on the team who didn't try in the weight room because I felt it didn't affect my game. When I got to the second level, I quickly realized it did. Hopped out of sports and needed a hobby to fill the void, and found the gym. It was a pretty dark time in my life and the only highlight at the time was working out. That was about 4 years ago so I'd say I've been legitimately lifting for about 3 years and seen some pretty good progress since I had a decent background and frame to start on from sports.
I fell in love with the gym and it's quickly become my top priority since taking it seriously. Everything about it excites me, and I relish every aspect of it including the not so fun side like nutrition, recovery and all the little nuances with trying to achieve your best physique. I'm even majoring in a field that will allow me to translate what I learn into fitness. I love the dedication that comes with looking better than the vast majority of the population, because it takes so much hard work and mental fortitude on every level in order to achieve that. I feel it's my duty to look my best because there are men out there who don't have the ganas (obviously nobody on here) to accomplish what I want. Also I don't want to come across as if my shit don't stink but I also don't want to downplay the amount of effort and sacrifice I've put into my passion either. I know there are tons of seasoned vets in here with decades of experience and that's exactly why I joined this community.
My goal is to shape a physique that I can be proud of, I don't want any participation trophies for being somewhat fit with somewhat amount of muscle. It doesn't take much to impress the general public, but those aren't the people I strictly want to be impressive to. I want the body I know I can have, and I'll do it by any means necessary, within reason of course.
That's my spiel, I appreciate anyone who took the time to read any part of that and I look forward to conversing with all of you and hopefully I can contribute in time.
