New member preparing for first cycle

Have been browsing the forum for a little while, and decided to make an introduction as I plan on starting my first cycle soon, and any advice/information is appreciated.

About me: 26 years old, 5'10 and 165lbs. Have been training for quite a while, but wasted a lot of time with a subpar training routines and most of all, poor understanding of nutrition. I did my research and got that straightened out, and have been consistent the last few years. Before I began training, I was around 135. Bulked off and on until I reached 195, then went on my first cut to my current weight of 165. Was in a pretty serious accident last year that took some rehab and significant time to build my strength and body back to what it was prior.

I've been back to training with high intensity in the gym again for a while now and have been researching and preparing for my first cycle. Planning for just a basic 12 week 500mg Test E cycle. Will have Arimidex for AI and Nolva/Clomid for PCT. Goal for this cycle is simply to gain size. I know I still have room to grow naturally, but I have thought about it and researched a good deal, and I'm comfortable with my decision.

I know there's tons of info in these forums, and I will continue to research through them, but figured I should go ahead and make an intro. Any info or recommendations for my first cycle or any advice on using the forum is welcomed.

Welcome to MESO. Are your testosterone levels low? Do you plan on competing? Body building or powerlifting? If you plan on doing this for any period time, you should no the possible side effects. Permanent shut down, infertility, being on TRT for the rest of your life. If you OK with those possibilities then go for it. 500mg of test cyp or E is a good start. I personally would do 600mg/week. Stick around there will be others to chime in.

If I was you I wouldn't fuck with it until you need TRT. Once your tt levels go below 400 then start. If I wasn't on Trt I wouldn't be fucking with it at all.

Haven't had levels checked yet, but pretty sure they're normal. Plan on having blood work done prior to starting. I will not be competing in anything. Goal for a long time has been just to get to about 185-190 lean and maintain. Nothing crazy. I have read plenty on possible negatives and side effects and I'm comfortable with the risk/reward trade off. But I will continue researching as I don't plan on starting right away. Thanks for the reply and questions.

You can accomplish your goal natty easy. There is no reason for you to even run gear. If you've been training as long as you say and your only 165 the issue is your training or diet, gear won't fix that. Do research on training and diet. Don't even bother researching gear it's pointless for your goals.

I admitted my diet and training were poor in the beginning, and also said I was in an accident that had a big effect. I stated that I'm aware I still have room to grow naturally.

But I looked at your profile, and u stated in October u were 180 19% bf and planned on running test, deca, and primo and adding in hgh and orals for your first real cycle. And you stated your goal to be 215 at 10%, which u said should be easy to attain on a 16 week cycle. That means what? Losing fat and adding 45lbs of lean mass? So, while I appreciate you trying to help, I would like to wait on advice from more experienced members. They may or may not say the same thing.

I have 20 years on you and when I was your age I also wanted to take steroids. Some older and wiser friends talked me out of it. What I did instead was hire a nutritionist and got my diet dialed in and focused on training consistency and adding bulk. It worked. I got up to 210 at 10% bodyfat--- I was never a guy who desired to be shredded--- I love food. I started messing with steroids once I ended up on trt and they are good for me but I am also consistently doing labs, donating blood every 10 weeks and I will be on test the rest of my life. I am ok with that. I would wait-- but if you insist-- do a test only cycle--- no need to complicate things--- you should do well on test only and you can see how your body handles it. aim for 12 weeks and phase off and plan a proper PCT and I hope you eat like a racehorse and get HUGE.

I completely understand your response. I know most people may tell me it's optimal to wait. I understand that is the proper advice to most new members thinking about starting. I used to say I wouldn't do anything and didn't think I needed it. However, after spending the last almost 2 years working hard just regaining functional movement and then getting my body close to where it was before, I've done a lot of thinking and researching and believe a small first cycle would be a positive thing for me.

I'm confident my diet and training are very good at this point. I won't abuse anything, I will have a plan and stick to it. Doing test only for 12 weeks, with proper blood work and pct, I believe the possibilities of long term negative effects are minimal. But I'm still learning more every day and appreciate all honest responses.

Welcome to meso, it's definitely frustrating being set back by accidents as it's happened to me, twice, with back surgeries. I will have to agree with what was said above..your goals can very well be achieved without gear but you seem set on it, so wear it out. 500mg ew is a good cycle and with the right programming and diet you will yield good gains.

And right now im 205lbs at 14%bf on TRT dosage. Obviously I'm exactly who your dumb ass should be following. I'm going to obtain my goal without even running a cycle.

Thanks for the reply. I am pretty set on it at the moment. Still making sure I have everything lined up and mapped out though. Want to be positive I do everything right, not rushing into it. I do believe 5'10 190 under 10% bf will be decent size considering I have a very small frame. I don't think it's as easy as some people state, it would take considerable time. I'm dedicated to the lifestyle long term and enjoy it, but I believe some faster progress at this point would be very positive for me. This isn't something I've taken lightly, I've put plenty of thought and research into it and the risk/reward comparison has led me to that decision.

I noticed you were upset and name calling in other threads as well. Cheer up man. You just gained 30 pounds of lbm and dropped 5lb of fat in 11 weeks on a TRT dose u said brings your test levels to 600. You should be happy.

Hey Creative,

I'm new here too, but I'm not new to lifting or AAS.

I know this has been said, but I think you could wait to cycle. If you want to have a family, steroid cycling can complicate that. It's a problem that can usually be solved, but something to consider.

That being said, 500 mg test E a week with adex and a PCT is fine IMO.

Make sure you have everything you need before your first injection.

Also, and maybe most important, get bloodwork done before you start. This will be the most important bloodwork of your life as it will define your baselines before you ever touched AAS. Down the road, you'll know what was "normal" for you. I wish someone had given me this advice before I injected for the first time.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Definitely solid advice I had no clue about bloodwork or properly cycling when I started 9 years ago and because of that I'm on trt for the rest of my life

I actually switched to injections like 3 weeks ago. I have to get bloods soon. I'm probably in the upper range right now. I was eating 1500 calories a day for like 7 months to get down to 180. Im upping calories so putting on muscle is very easy right now.
That argument was from some old bullshit that pussy is a troll.

It's possible you were just unlucky. I only did 2 cycles of superdrol when I was younger. I didn't have any problems for years after with testosterone. Some people just get unlucky with testosterone levels declining

You could probably gain more size by eating more food but im not going to tell you whats right or wrong, if you feel your ready to do a test cycle, than do it, you look to be in pretty good shape already, I just feel you could probably stay natty and still make more gains with out the test

Thanks for the responses. I'll definitely be getting bloodwork at least pre, mid, and post-cycle. When I start the cycle, I'll have everything lined up and planned out.

And I have no problems eating as many people seem to think. I just finished a 35lb cut recently because I was on a big surplus trying to regain the strength and muscle that was lost recovering from my injuries. I know a lot of people may think because I'm 165lb, I don’t train or diet appropriately. That was true for a good period of time, but I straightened that out a good while back. I've worked hard and made a lot of progress to be where I'm at and had some serious setbacks along the way. I have a very small frame and I don’t just pack on pounds and pounds of muscle that fast. However, I'm very aware I could still add mass naturally and admitted I'm looking for faster progress at the moment. Some people may not agree with it, but everyone has their reasons for using AAS and make the personal decision to do so. Mine is an informed decision, and I've weighed the positives and negatives as they relate to me.

Don't currently have access to anymore before pictures I'm comfortable sharing, but the arm circumference in this one may give some idea.

Trying to show a new pic with a little better lighting since you guys are making me feel like a starving child haha. But seriously, not trying to impress anyone with my physique. It did take a good amount work for me to get here though and didn't happen without knowing how to train and eat. I know its not my natural max, but I've made a lot of progress and feel like I'm knowledgeable enough and am comfortable moving forward with a cycle.
