New to Bitcoin.

Hey guys and gals,

I know this question has likely been asked a million times, but here it goes anyhow. I am brand new to Bitcoin. Tired of paying all the WU fees so I am finally deciding to start using Bitcoin. Would like to be steered in the right direction if possible. Is Coinbase still the best place to purchase? What about wallets? What are some of your favorites? Thanks much.

I've ended up using Electrum for my wallet and have been purchasing with Coinbase. Has worked nicely thus far.

Bitcoin ATM > Breadwallet > Electrum On TAILS. Make sure you use Tails. If you can’t do the research on how to be safe with Tails than you have no business using Bitcoin. If you don’t have a local Bitcoin ATM than use Coinbase but when you transfer your money to Electrum, shuffle it around a few times to other Electrum wallets.

Since this post I have been using Coinbase to purchase and then transferring to Electrum. From Electrum I have been purchasing directly to the source. Now, I understand Coinbase will freeze you due to suspicious activities, but I have never heard of people having problems with Elecrtrum. I guess it's always a good practice to be better safe than sorry.
