Hello all,

Quick introduction. I am not new to the site, but have been away for many years. Used to be a frequent poster on multiple BB forums, but not in recent years, so some of you may remember my handle, or BDW which some people shortened it to.

Anyway. Am in my late 30's and been training since i was 13 or so. Always been on and off training, and in recent years have been so busy with work and also did a part time degree. In the end I basically took 5 years out of the gym! Have been getting back into it this year, but what with travel with work etc barely been in the gym for the last month. But will be back on it again in the coming days.

Looking forward to shooting the breeze and catching up on what's changed in the last few years.

Cheers

p.s. getting old sucks balls :) My back is not what it was, my shoulder and wrist hurt and I am always tired. I miss being young and dumb!

I hear ya bdw. I can't hit it like I used to either. I pinch nerves and throw my back/neck out every few months like clockwork. I've recently taken a few weeks off because I've been just plain exhausted between the gym and work. I remember just a few years ago I'd be hitting it 6 days a week and feel guilty for taking Sunday's off. I'd be chomping at the bit come Monday. Were you a member here before?

Welcome back brother. Getting old does suck, but I'm okay with it.

Thank God for muscle memory ! You should be able to get most if not more muscle back ;) (better living thru chemistry , and hard work)

The funny thing is, for back, arms and chest the muscle memory kicked in pretty quick, but my legs are really lagging. I used to always have bigger quads when I was younger, but now I am struggling to get them going. Same with strength, coming back on upper body but my legs are struggling.

Just have to man up and squat more.
