NPC bodybuilder and Spokane Police Detective Mel Taylor is under investigation after the DEA discovered he had anabolic steroids shipped to his house. The DEA notified the Spokane PD. The Spokane PD notified the FBI... The 27-year department veteran decided to retire instead of facing an internal affairs investigation.

He was recipient of numerous awards during his LE career e.g. Washington State Medal of Honor, the Spokane Police Department Silver Star, the Distinguished Service Medal and a Life-Saving Award.

His wife, Lydia Taylor nee Prichard is also under investigation; she is a Spokane Police Sergeant and NPC competitor.
