Ok i have a question. Is there any difference in the oil you use for your home brew? My question is do the powders chemically bond better to certain oils? less fall out?
thanks

i'm not a chemist but this is a very good question that i dont think has been asked before. i understand some basics though in the meantime. of course the viscosity of the oil matters when it comes to what syringe to use, i think the viscosity is basically the freezing point....just like coconut oil is "frozen" at room temperature, but olive oil is not. but the viscosity i think is relative to how long the hydrocarbon chain (oil) is, and either a longer or shorter chain (not sure which) is what makes the oil more or less viscous. but if you think about the oil as a hydrocarbon chain and the ester as something that links onto the "hydro" part (water molecule) of the chain, then maybe the longer hydrocarbon chains will be able to link more ester molecules than the shorter ones? but since i'm not sure which is more viscous, the shorter or longer chain, this would be necessary to know to determine which type of oil bonds with more ester. once again, i'm not a chemist and so this is merely a guess...or some brainstorming for others to add to or contradict.

i vote grapseed oil.. i believe that is what designer supps uses as well..

you can pick up a bottle in local grocers health food section.

I use sesame oil with all my home brew. I've never tried grapeseed oil but have heard it works just the same. You can also get sesame oil at your local health food section.

Grape seed is thinner then most but I havent used it. I go with USP cotton seed it is what the big drug companies use and not expensive.

Cotton seed has been linked to fertility issues.
