I thought going down past the point where your upper legs are parrell to the floor is dangerously bad for your knees. Then in the 5 x 5 you guys are reccomending doing these with as much wieght as possible? It sounds really dangerous to me....

rook48 said:ya i did them yesterday like the guy in the second picture and my knees didn't hurt at all, whereas they normally feel like shit and everything is popping. normally i use a belt and knee wraps and i didn't need anything at all while doing these. i tried to get to the guy in the first picture but couldn't get down that far. they felt great as far as the stretch i was getting in my hams go, i've never felt like that before. some guy comes up to me and says "isn't that bad for your knees though, i'm in medicine and that's what my professor says" or someshit like that, so i said they feel great like this. but they are awesome.
