I have been off cycle for 10 weeks and I still have bad tennis elbow, any home cures or secrets that will help? I have it bad in one and starting to feel bad in the other and now its effecting me from my workout...help!! Sorry about the spelling bro's..

lateral epicondylitis (tendonitis) is commonly reffered to as tennis elbow. The wrist and finger extensors all arise from the lateral epicondyle (on the and the origin can become inflamed through a variety if causes(usually the extensor carpi radialis brevis is the main culprit). the best remedy is a reduction in activities which flex and extend the wrist as this allows the tendinous junction some time to heal. Analgesics can certainly help and some find that OTC elbow bands can reduce pain. The elbow bands (or wraps) place constant pressure just distal to the epicondyle and provide temporary relief. Rest and a reduction in demand on the affected tissue is the best remedy. More invlolved therapy can include immobilization of the wrist via a brace, glucocorticoid therapy, and in severe cases removal of diseased tissue and reattachment of the musculature. Just take it easy and back off the demand on the affected arm.

Dang Bro you sure know a lot..LOL...man Im glad you resonded.Well then after reading your reply I feel that perhaps I should now mention I have carpel tunnel in both wrist, so after reading what you said perhaps they could be connected ( as far as pain )? I sleep with braces on both wrist and have been taking Viox every day and wearing a band when I lift but seems to still hurt, will it get worse if I dont back off or can I justy tone it down a bit and workout even though the pain is there? thanks bro I do take your advise to heart...take care..

well VIOXX worked wonders on mine but thats gone now...now i take some advil before my workouts and stay away from exercises that flair it up....skullcrushers, oh DB press, and upright rows make it hurt bad....

thanks for all the advice, I guess I was hoping that rest wasnt the anser. I seem to lose a lot of gound when Im resting..Oh well I guess its better than pussing it to surgery then I would really be off...thanks bro I guess theres really no magic cure ehh!!! Sucks...Thanks

i had bilateral epicondyle releases.(surgery in both) it did nothing in the long run, just shut down serious lifting for a year. but with construction and working out, the problem came right back. learn to work around it cause your stuck with it in this lifestyle. figure out which exercises hurt it the worst and find alternatives to them. good luck and pm if you have any questions. i went through EVERY option available.

CTS is one of the most mis diagnosed problems in america. With that said, you should take a week off. Ice massage on your elbow as well as muscle strip your forearms during the week off. Than ice massage after every workout and dont do exercises that flare it up. you should be able to manage this. Ice massage should be done 7-10 minutes. If you do an ice pack than you can go for 20 minutes.

I have used DMSO for years to help with the problem. You have to make sure you clean the area to treat real well of it will take what's on the surface into your blood stream.
