OPSEC - using real name + delivery questions

noob here. I have some questions regarding opsec/anonymity and I want to go about this in the best way possible. These might be retarded questions but I couldn’t find a clear answer when browsing the forum.

When ordering from a vendor, is it best to use your real name or a fake one?

If I want to order to a PO Box, does the name registered with the PO Box have to match who the package is addressed to? Is it possible to open up a PO Box with a fake name or do you have to show ID?

Lastly, has anyone used a virtual mailbox service like iPostal1 for deliveries?

I use a fake one but you should be OK using your real name.

Yes
No

I use a UPS store business account. You will have to use your real name and show ID like a P.O. Box but you can attach up to 2 fake names without ID (think employees) I have opened them with "fake" IDs before.

This is actually not a bad idea. You will have to submit 2 forms of ID but you can make them in a program like GIMP. The problem with using fake names is, if you have to show ID to pick up a package and you don't have one your screwed. You could "age" the account and that may work.

Put your real name. The idea of a fake name is so stupid. Controlled deliveries are almost always them sitting in a van and waiting for you to grab the package and a couple min for you to open it. Usually they put a sensor in that alerts when the package has been opened. If you want plausible deniability, what reason do you have for grabbing a package not in your name? People get packages all the time addressed to them and dont know whats in them. Either way if youre getting hit for a controlled delivery on a Sch 3 then you were hit before the package.

Very helpful, thanks.

You need two forms of id to get a P.O. Box in a mom and pops. Once upon a time an out of state id and matching college id could be had for $100-$150 on certain onion forums.

Also make sure to use sources that also do not store any kind of data, make sure to use auto-delete and encrypted mails when possible and share no details about yourself.

I believe @malomkarom can give you a good few bits of some sources here storing data, some even permanently.

CBP and the federal LE generally have incredibly sophisticated systems called "disambiguation" that will see right through fake names/altered address spelling, P.o. boxes, and even have data sharing agreements with UPS and Fedex.

What keeps you safe is being a small fish and not doing things they really don't like.

Don't sell, don't fuck with hard drugs or weapons through the mail, and nobody will give a shit about you buying a few dozen vials of steroids, small amounts of raws, HGH, or India pharma, You're not the type of criminal they're interested in.

I have literally had hundreds, no exaggeration, hundreds of pieces of mail returned to sender due to the name of the recipient not being listed with that address.

I would have thought that using a fake name would cause a similar issue. In the examples I give above, the name was real, it was just not previously tied to that mailing address, so the USPS sent most of the mail back.

Anyone who's used informed delivery, and noticed that the second you sign up images of your physical mail starts appearing in your email, should understand that only happens because the entire flow of mail is photographed, stored, and analyzed.

If a fake name was enough to prevent you from going to jail over shit shipped in the mail, all sorts of career criminals would still be walking the streets. You take possession of the package, open it, and keep the contents, you're in the same situation either way.

From what I've seen in online court records, someone goes from an AAS user to being identified as a dealer, and suddenly they've got records of packs received, packs sent, customs love letters, things sent to a "european lab known for testing controlled substances", going back years before they even started an investigation.

Like I said, just have to stay under the radar. They're not going to expend resources on something likely to end up with a slap on the wrist. These aren't drugs that destroy communities, just your cardiovascular health perhaps...

This is all true, but I am not sure what it has to do with what I posted (maybe you quoted the wrong post when you quoted mine? either that, or I just don't get it, lol, it's been a long day)

USPS told me the shipments they thought were drug shipments from drug dealers going back for some time. I did not answer or confirm or deny.

If I had answered, I would have denied, because I have never ever ordered drugs from drug dealers.

But those packages looked suspicious. LOL

I buy and resell legit products as a side hustle.
Any time someone uses a fake name or a different name listed on their mailbox/address. It causes issues for me and gets sent back to me.

like ghoul said they track everything regardless. You’re a small fish, you’ll be fine using your own real name. Just don’t use a source that has been outted for shitty packaging like some oil gate sources here lol

This is interesting. I order a ton of crap to my house under bull shit names all the time and they get delivered. In fact, I use a different name for every service like Amazon, Etsy, Wayfair, etc. and have never had one returned. However, I do live in a county with over 11,000,000 people.

Different experiences. Maybe it depends on the region or something. I don't know.

After moving to a different state I was shocked when I got a USPS notice requiring me to go to the post office to certify a particular name lived at my address before they'd release that piece of mail or deliver any in the future.

You use your real name at usps opening a po box. They're gonna have a debit/credit card attached to it anyway. They don't give a s*** about your packages or what you order. They're not allowed to open your mail... they will even get fired if they do. You can give it a business name if you want. Lots of people open boxes to run an online business. Like example " ABC Samples".
