what can you take otc that has been proven to lower blood pressure...mine is up due to test/eq...and stress.

I haven't personally used this but it was posted elsewhere. I researched this briefly and it looks like it could be beneficial. You could google this and see what you find:

liquid extract of hawthorn berry 40 drops/2-3x/day

Supposedly it works quickly, within several days.

Other ways are to take extra Vit C with bioflavonoids, extra potassium, Folic acid (1mg/day) and limit your fats and sodium intake.

Good luck!

I personally use celery seed extract standardized for 65 - 70 mg of 3nb and grapeseed extract during weekdays, and hawthorne berry extract on weekends. I was borderline hypertensive (readings were consistently around 140/90) when I started using celery seed extract twice a day over two years ago. Immediately, my BP stabilized at or near a consistent 120/80.

Next, I decided to use the celery seed extract during the week and to use 565 mg. of hawthorne berry extract on weekends, and my BP remained consistently around 120/80.

Then I read an article or an abstract (you can either google for it or search Pub Med) regarding a study where grapeseed extract had proven effective in lowering BP. I started using 120 mg of grapeseed extract in the morning, and the celery seed extract in the evening during the week. I continued to use hawthorne berry extract on the weekends, and my BP readings consistently dropped to about 118/76 (In case you're wondering, I have a home BP monitor).

Gradually, I started taking supplemental potassium, magnesium, and vitamin D, as well as lemon-flavored cod liver oil for its relative high concentrations of both vitamin D and DHA. I believe all of these supplements are having some positive effect on my overall health, if not BP specifically.
