Package from CHINA seized !!!

So package was sent via EMS mail from China to PO Box. It was tracked and nothing seemed out of place as customs kept it only 1day. Normal.

Next thing you know package gets delivered in an open box. Didn't know it till after I signed for it at PO window.
Inside found letter from customs that items were taken out and seized. "You will get official letter within 30days" it says.

Never head of customs letting empty box go with a letter inside. Now they have evidence that box was delivered and signed for.

Anyone had this happen? Not sure I even want to reship it to new address. Just eat the $200 and find local supplier?

Any advice is appreciated.

NO! Don't have it shipped to your address as it's now flagged forever. You'll have to find a new address to have it shipped to.

Seems like your supplier either goofed and didn't package it properly which made the postal inspectors suspicious, or your package was randomly selected for search. Lucky for you they did not do a "controlled delivery", where you'd be busted if you accepted the package.

You could find a local supplier, but that could bring risks too

Well it was PO Box and controlled delivery would be hard. I waited awhile before I went to get it. Just to make sure. THIS SUX !

I feel your pain, and better close the PO box as it has your name attached to it. It appears now that packages originating from China are on Customs radar now too.

I got a letter back in 2002. You were looking over your shoulder a lot when you first got it, weren't you? After that I still received at the same address for another year without an issue. It was at a UPS store.

they used to do this quite a bit back before it became vogue to bust users - that was quite common in fact - they just never cared before - I find it intersting that they did this now though

I think if it was my house address they would of sent LE. since it was po box they had no way of knowing when or who will pick it up. so it's scary idea
