PayPal update

I just noticed a great change to my PayPal. I got the new update that allows sending and receiving Bitcoin in my PayPal app. I have been having problems with Coinbase for whatever reason recently so this is a huge plus for me. Hopefully someone else can use this info too.

I'd be wary of using bitcoin via PP for buying your fave muscle candy with. Use caution here guys.

Could you elaborate? I can’t be any less safe than Coinbase tracking 4 hops of your Bitcoin, plenty of people use that.
The same caution as with using CB should apply to Paypal IMO. Remember PP has a lot of info on its users so if you have a Paypal account they can kick you out and freeze your funds without warning just like the others.

EDIT: If you are using Paypal BTC for simply as an investment tool then you should be fine.

And why exactly is that? Do you think PP can tell the difference between an illegal AAS dealers btc address and your brother in California's address?
Your confirmed name and address are tied to your paypal account and that would most likely tie your Paypal BTC wallet to you as well and I am sure they use the same sort of monitoring tools as Coinbase or Cashapp uses.

If a source is using a new address for each transaction, it seems harder for them to track imo but I honestly don't really know shit about this with any certainty.

New addresses can be easily flagged as well. There are some ways activity on particular addresses can be monitored and flagged and CB/PP don't disclose their methods on tracking.

Right, but any suspicious activity would be tied to the external btc address you're sending to. Practically every source I've seen Mentioned obtaining a new address for every transaction. So unless these companies have the manpower to track new addresses back to the original source, I don't see how your cash app/pp/Coinbase accounts automatically get shut down by sending btc to a specific account address.

I've had Google wallet and venmo accounts closed for normal purchases, and no reason ever given to me. And read many peoples cash app closed for no reason. I could be wrong, but I don't think there's a one size fits all reason why accounts get closed.

You should also go and see what the guys have done there. This is very good news!
