It’s due to his new shipping line requires it. Funny thing though it seems it depends on your mail carrier because mine simply left it at my door when I was setting in the front room just inside the door. He never even knocked lol.

Things changed from September month i guess since packages via India post were getting seized at higher rate and we started new shipping line via UAE and saw superb clearance rate however it’s registered mail service and delivery in person is must as per their norm that’s why they ask for signature,

As @Smashshit mentioned also depends on delivery guy some are cool with leaving at front door some will ask for signature and some will take it back to post office if no one is at home and leave a notice to collect from post office .
