no but was shot close to me(within 50 miles). Iowa supposedly doesnt have cougars according to the DNR "geniuses". Them fuckheads have been denying cougars in Iowa for years even though many hunters have spotted them. Including my group last year. This one was seen dragging a deer across a road. I couldnt imagine coming face to face with that thing

I wouldn't have suspected any cougars in IA. I've seen some big ass coyotes, though.

well the dnr has been accused of letting some wolves, cougars, and rattlesnakes loose. There have been too many sitings for it to just be the "wandering cat". I have nver seen a live cougar and hope i nver do. There are tons of coyotes here. Some bigguns.

IF that was coming at me I wouldnt be able to hold the gun steady enough for it to matter. Problem with cougars is that you rarely see them coming. They sneak up from behind, jump 30 feet and give you a rather crude cervical adjustment

Been a hunter all my life I stocked my moms freezer every year with antelope, venison, elk. But I loath anyone who would kill a cougar like that. what is he gonna do with it? skin it and show it to his buddies when they're getting sauced on Ol Mil, and Lord Calvert Canadian? If the DNR has denied there are cougars in that area, I doubt ole boy had a license to kill it. Fucking Poachers. In Wyoming he'd get shot by a self respecting hunter! Just my thoughts on the matter.

nope, classified as a nuisance and can be shot from what I hear. People here do not want them around. Majority rules in some cases. I dont know the guy and I have no desire to hunt cougars. Same with bears. I had a friend that got back from a mountain lion hunt and it just doesnt appeal to me at all.

I have seen one cougar killed and it didnt bother me at all. I was working as a guide last year and a hunter shot a nice elk. Me and the outfitter were field dressing it while the outfitters dog ran around. We heard the most horrific dog scream I have ever heard. We ran into the timber and found his dog being mauled. The o.f. pulled out his .454 casull and shot the cat at the base of the skull. His dog died and he was heart broken. The cat is now on display at the local DNR office
