PIP question

Question about PIP. I’ve been injecting trt 27 gauge 1/2” in the delts but since I’m doing more than trt now decided to stop being a pussy and have been using 25 gauge 1” into the delt lat or VG. Lats haven’t been awful but the pip in the VG has been a bitch days after. Don’t matter if it’s the test or primo, or a small or big amount I’ve been hobbling. Will mdo muscles get used to it because it goes in pain free like butter it’s just the days after like I did it 4 days ago and I’m still tender on one side. Yesterday sucked pretty bad. Thanks for any input

Are you sure you're hitting the right VG location? Whenever I've had pip from vg it's because I was either too low or too far posterior. It's much higher and more forward than most people realize. I've also seen that almost all the pictures and videos online are wrong. That messed me up for a while.

Yeah man I think so, I mean it’s not my ass cheek or anything it’s higher up nice meaty area like it was so sore I wouldn’t have been able to do 10 pounds on the bad girl machine so basically that spot

If it helps it's forward of center on your sides, and at your waist band height or slightly above. Most people error too far to the rear. If your waist band is a clock with belt buckle at 12 o'clock and ass crack at 6 o'clock your hitting at 9:30-10 or 2:00-2:30. If it moves when you lift your leg you're too low.

Not trying to insult you if you already have it dialed in. Just throwing it out there because most people get it wrong. I still have to draw dumb ass lines on me every time or I'll mess it up when I go to pin.

It’s cool man thanks yeah I might be too low based on that. Definitely below my waist line I felt higher would go into bone or something I’ll give it a shot next time literally lol better than hobbling around

Yeah, I used to worry about hitting bone too but the hip bone is a deep cup full of muscle. I'm pretty lean and still use 1.25" needle with no problem.

The VG is a big muscle but the spot you want to pin is literally on the belt line. You won't hit anything but muscle. It's easier to find if you are lean but if you put your finger at the hip and start marching in place, you should feel the muscle contract - that's where you want to hit.

Thanks yeah definitely have been going below that I’m pretty lean it just seemed too high going to try it there thanks

no prob bro. I was scared first time too. I went in super slow thinking I was gonna hit something. I use 1.5" needles, nothing but muscle every time. Just gotta build the confidence. Favorite muscle to pin now.

There is a finger trick you can do if you can see your obliques. Basically, make an L with thumb and forefinger and place your thumb just below your oblique, plant your forefinger where the L lands on your hip. Now extend your middle finger. Where it touches your waistline is the spot to pin (try marching, you'll feel muscle contraction).

I’ve seen all the YouTube videos about it but still I’m afraid to pinch too high. Any of you have or know which one is the most accurate video I can watch ? Thanks guys

I had the worst experience with VG, apparently it's the most difficult spot for me to find lol.

I had one shot, only God knows where i hit, that gave me a radiating pain down through my knee. It was the last attempt on VG. If i eventually develop scar tissue on the rotation muscles i use now I'll reconsider it but till then I have plenty of time.

Video? just put your finger on your outside hip bone, and pin 1-2 finger widths below that point
simple as
everyone learns and understands differently. I honestly need a video for things like this myself, actually an in person tutorial would be even better.

Those Haynes, Chilton, and factory service manuals would frustrate me so much. I was so happy when people started posting up videos on youtube.

Yeah man I’m gonna try a couple more times see if a little higher serves me good if not then delts and lats it is barely any issues there

It'd be awesome if Haynes or Chilton made a repair manual for humans, with a chapter on IM injection sites. :p

FWIW I figured I'd post where I pin if it helps anyone. As I said, I have to draw tbe lines each time I pin VG or I drift too low or too far to the rear.

I start by tracing my hip bone at the top. I note where the highest point of it is and put a finger there. Then I fine where my femur (greater trochanter) bone sticks out. Just lift your leg and see where leg bone connects. Then I draw a line from greater trochanter to crest of hip bone.

I put the back of my hand with my pointer and middle finger spread, with my middle finger on the line I just drew. I'll trace out the v from my fingers to the top of my hip bone.

Then, in that V at waist level is where I pin. Pin towards the front of the V at waist level. I go high enough that when I march I don't really feel anything but fibers moving there. Pushing with your fingers there it feels hard like bone. It's not. It's good muscle. If it feels really uncomfortable or like you're hitting nerve your too far to the rear. If you trace your hip bone you see how much room you really have there.

I don't know if this is right but it's what I do and I don't have any issues. Hope this helps.

On what I drew, you can see the V, then I drew horizontal lines where I consider my waistband level. Then pinned to the front of it. I tried to mark it out the best I could.

Yeah man I’ve been going like down and right maybe 6” each way. Maybe if it was worded ventrohip lol becauer you think glute and just think more ass. Anyone ever try a 1/2” for that location? I’m definitely not fat had a 6 pack maybe 8 pounds ago but it’s October and down to a 2 pack but legs are still lean and veiny. I have both 1/2” and 1” not that it probably even fucking matters but still new to the game and willing to listen and learn

I'm 8% on a dexa and won't go below 1". 1/2" is probably okay but the only pip I've ever had anywhere was when I was too shallow. It's a pretty deep muscle and I'm usually doing 2ml or more.

My opinion, I would 100% stay at 1" but that's me.
