I was asked by a co worker how long will it take for her legs to began toning. Now to give you a bit information about this woman.

She has been dieting for several months in which she went from 151lbs to 138lbs. She said her legs are still showing bodyfat. I never saw what her thighs look like but they are big and she's much more bottom heavy.

She also wants to tone her arms. She has a bit of sagging fat on her triceps. Like I said she has been dieting for several months and have dropped but she wants to take it to a level were she begans to tone up more.

Now with the question she ask regarding how long will it take for her legs to tone up what's the best way I can answer her question? I know I told her if she does what she's suppose to do she should be fine but I could not really say how long it will take before her legs will tone as everyone is different.

Another co-worker said it should be around four to six weeks before her thighs began to tone. What do you guys think? Oh by the way she is 31yrs old and 5-feet tall at 138lbs from 151lbs.

Thanks guys.

well this is impossible to answer. Is she dieting alone or diet and cardio. Any weightlifting? At 5' tall I would say she needs to get to at least 120 to see any toning and that is if she is lifting. Otherwise 110 possibly. If it took her several months to lose the first 13 pounds(the first pounds are the easiest), than it will be months for her to get to a toned weight IMO. Sounds like she needs to reaccess her diet. She shouldve been able to lose that first 13 much quicker if doing an efficient program. This is my opinionQUOTE=Nuteboy]I was asked by a co worker how long will it take for her legs to began toning. Now to give you a bit information about this woman.

Actually I think you're correct Thick. This is what she does. She does cardio for 30 minutes and I believe a bit of weight lifting. I really don't think she does much weight lifting as she has asked me "many times" what's the name of certain exercises. Plus she has told me she does her a bit of weight training which I got the idea it was not enough for her to "get toned."

What her diet is like I really don't know. I believe however it could be more strict and I agree with you that she would need to be around 120lbs ( for her height) to began to see any toning. She's probably holding too much body fat.

What's the best advice could I pass to her Thick? I don't know much regarding her weight training and cardio or dieting and it did take her three months to drop 13lbs.

So with a client like that what would you tell her Thick? How much cardio should she be doing? I told her to do her weight training first and then do cardio for around 30 or 40 minutes. She asked how many sit ups should she be doing, lol.

Probably best she get a trainer, right?

she would be well off getting a good trainer. Depends on how much time you want to spend with her. You obviously know what you are doing to build a great physique. We have a few trainers on this board who have a majority of clients just like this girl I assume.
If I was helping her I would first get exactly what she is doing and how often she is doing it wrt her diet, cardio, and lifting. I would tell her that whatever she is doing is not very efficient b/c it wouldnt have taken many changes at all to lose 13 pounds in several months. Tell her the next 20 will be harder to lose and if she doesnt change to a solid program than she will not realize her goals. We will help you out. Get the above info. from her and start the thread in training section and we will go from there. The one positive I see in this is that she is commited. If she has stuck with it for several months than there is a high chance of her meeting her goals on a solid program.

Tell her she's fat. Fat thighs and jiggly arms arent exactly in shape. But shes slowly moving in the right direction, so thats a plus.

I would suggest 3 lifting workouts per week. 40-60 minutes each, full body. Cardio has to be faster than a walk to the fridge. 3-5 cardio sessions per week at a decent clip. If shes totally out of shape, she could start at 20 minutes. Work up to about 40 minute and then get her to do intervals on 2 of her cardio sessions per week.

Pizza is not a diet food. Neither are Snackwells cookies. Ask her how she eats. Tell her to supplement with some protein and cut back on everything refined and processed. Only natural foods.

Thanks Thick. I'll ask her. Thanks for the advice bro. I know about how to build my shape but other people I'm not comfortable giving advice. I know what works for me but with someone else I just don't like doing. But with the help of some board memebers I think this can work for a general workout program that will make her happy.

Just remember that for the general population, some movement, ANY movement, is an improvement over their current condition.

you are welcome. I am betting when you find out her diet and exercise it will be very clear what needs to be added or taken away.
