YGM...you're welcome

Einstein, you're supposedly a research scientist. I'm surprised you don't have a greater appreciation and respect for intellectual property rights.

Hopefully the intent of the authors, whose books I may have passed on, had primary goals of first spreading knowledge and educating the masses rather than profit-driven motivations. Assuming that to be the case, I've done nothing more than do them a favor by helping to realize their dreams, and I ask for no thanks from them in return.

IMO, anyone who can afford a computer and internet access, and is supposedly a bodybuilder and therefore buying protein supplements etc, can sure enough afford a $40 book.

Especially when we're talking about a guy who is not even a member of the meso community, he has not contributed anything, I think his post asking for a free book was one of his first posts here, he has clearly not earned the right to ask for a free anything, let alone receive anything free.

Not to even mention the issue of this site selling the book and therefore giving the book away for free is taking money away from the person who is doing everyone here a huge favor by operating this forum, for free. And this is how you thank him?

And as for the person who decided intelluctual property rights mean nothing and sent him the free book, I have lost all respect for this person and would wager a fair amount of money that his claim to be some sort of research scientist is a crock of crap.

I am close friends with several real, research scientists. Guys who spent 10 years in higher education getting their Phd's and now spend 10 hours a day in a lab doing strange things to rats; and their attitude toward intellectual property rights are a light year away from the cavalier attitude of Mr. Einstein. I really doubt that Mr. Einstein's attitude would be what it is if he were told that whatever kind of work he does, he would be doing for free. As he apparently think's Rea's work was done for free, let's see you, Mr. Einstein, work for free for the next 6 months.

Altruism isn't compatible with academic research? I'd gladly give away any of the papers I've had published. I wouldn't ask that someone go out and buy the journals, even though it may indirectly lower the cost for me to submit something for publication down the road. Personally, I don't care if you think I am what I am. To clarify though, I am an MD/PhD student. I do see your point about A.L. Rea's book being sold on this site...I'll grant you that. I'm not sure what's up with the personal attack, but I won't lower myself to retaliate on a personal level. I can't stress how much I'm in favor of people who are really trying to learn and understand concepts. I'm so sick of people regurgitating some 3rd party ideolagies without even having researched the literature themselves. Read....think.....learn....then read some more. I love it when people don't agree with me...that's evidence for me that I've read more and understood deeper than that person. I bet this sounds really arrogant, but I'm not very concerned with that. Hopefully it will inspire people to read and learn more than me so they can embarrass me by proving me wrong. I'd love for that to happen. Every post I make....I want someone to prove me wrong....to make me reevaluate what I know.....to reaffirm my conclusions....to dig deeper and look for more evidence to support what I say.
I'm disappointed more people don't make requests for books or sources of imformation....Am I one of the few here that doesn't yet know everything?
Any real author writes because they love it....because they love to inspire their readers or enrich their lives with the knowledge they're disseminating. real authors don't do it for the profit. If that's the reason someone writes, they no longer deserve to be called a writer.

This is the epitome of naivete. And as I thought, not spoken by a research scientist but by a student who has yet to make his way in the real world. I'm done with this subject.

You should have been done with this subject even before you decided to climb into the position to pass judgement on me or my actions. Not that I need to justify myself, but I spent several years doing research in industry before coming BACK to school, because research and labwork in industry is merely profit-driven, whereas research in an academic/clinical setting is primarily after the acquisition of knowledge....to further/better understand what we only think we know now. I have and will have taken a substantial paycut going from where I was to where I am.
I see no point for either of us to come back to this thread. If we're going to post on this site at all, let's at least make it constructive. There is thread after thread of questions to be answered, and we keep coming back here. Worthless. This isn't helping anyone.

are you hard boy?

................................................................................................HEY BRO NICE ALL THESE YOU SAY,BUT NOW SEND ME THE"BUILDING THE PERFECT BEAST" and also every info you have for bromocryptine use...bye bro

Einstein you are right about one thing - writers do write to provide pleasure and entertain - however - we still like to eat and have a house and car - so you see buying something and giving it away free to others is a bit of a sore point with most of us - even Stephan King who can afford to give away a few free books stopped his e-book experiment because he was afraid pirating and folks downloading the book for free.

So no arguing but I have to stand by the fact that in most instances I do not believe in giving away free copies of any published work - unless they check it out at the library of course

peace
