Post DNP weight gain?

Hey guys.

I recently finished a 10 day cycle of 500 mg dinitro DNP. Weight dropped first couple of days and then stayed steady as water retention took its course.

Now, it’s day 4 (3 full days off), and my weight is oddly increasing? I know I still have DNP in my system, but I’ve never heard of weight gain post DNP? Unless of course you eat over maintenance. I’ve been following my pre-DNP diet that helped me lose 60+ lbs. I track everything and I know for certain I’m eating less than 500 calories below maintenance.

I’m up about 1.5 lbs since yesterday. Is this normal?

Based on my calculations 1.5 lbs increase since yesterday will put you back on track for a 45 pound increase in a month. The basis of your weight gain is dependant on if you're eating high calorie foods (pizza pops, bagel bites, alphaghetties and chef boyardee ravioli) so if you want to keep losing weight I advise 1200mgs of dnp to counter the high calorie foods I listed above. keep is updated.

Not sure if you're being serious or not. But I'll reply with a serious answer.

As stated in my original post, my calories are tracked to the gram. I am eating 500-700 below maintenance. I would never take over 500mg of DNP. But then again, I think you're trolling. If you think I'm eating junk and taking DNP to counteract that because I'm a lazy fat ass, you're quite wrong man..

just thought I'd give a stupid answer to a stupid thread... why are you bitching and moaning about 1.5pounds you're body WILL rebound a bit from using dnp not that you will get fat again but you WILL gain some weight back.. I do believe you can keep the weight off but not all of it.

Solid

You probably gained 1.5 pounds of fat if you are on keto diet. Seriously that's water or a dumb. Really I piss 1.5 pounds in the morning don't stress I'm sure there is rebound but if you keep your diet tight you have nothing to fear

DNP by design does not allow your body to use carbs for energy. Carbs can combine with 2.5-4 times their weight in water and if you've been in a restricted carb state via the DNP then naturally your body will have a sponge type effect to some extent once the DNP starts to clear your system and the carbs start to move into the muscles bringing water with them.

That's why you look flat when running DNP and fill up/out after it clears your system. You're fine if you are tracking macros as you say and are sticking to the program.

I'd recommend staying off the scale except for once a week on the same day at the same time of day. You sort of come off as a little OCD on the scale weight thing worrying about 1.5#'s and while I get that you're probably on a mission to lose a lot of weight daily scale checking will mess with your head. Trust the science and your efforts. Progress will come.

I typically lose 6 to 8 pounds on day 1 of a DNP cycle. It's not 6 to 8 pounds of fat, obviously. It's mostly glycogen and water. Gaining a few pounds of water weight from the glycogen rebound post cycle is normal.

You won't gain fat post cycle unless you're eating at a surplus. You'll have a lower TDEE post cycle from being at a lower body weight, but the number shouldn't be drastically different after only 10 days.

Solid post...

Regarding the scale, I weigh myself daily right after waking up and using the bathroom. But, I do this because I know that scales are typically inaccurate and don't provide very repeatable/consistent results. They are impacted by what they are sitting on, the ambient temperature and sometimes even how you stand on it.

Also variations in your own hydration are going to cause swings daily.

Once you realize all this, you can weigh yourself daily and use a running average of the last 4 to 7 days to average these errors out. That running average will show the weight change trend.

Now, if what is going away is fat, water, muscle, that's another story.

For those of you who have done DNP twice or more, does it work as well the second time? I have seen reports that it does not, including some notes from Scorpion's website before it disappeared.

I'll always gain a few lbs back when I quit. That's where it stops though. Like a few others have said, I attribute it to the glycogen going back into the muscle. I look terribly flat when I run it, and always notice my muscles seem like they really fill up and look good again a few days after I quit it.
