post workout nutrition and supplementation. everyone has many opinions and ideas on what we need and why just curious what kinda of prinicples you guys use post workout

what supplements do you take post?
what macro nutrients do you aim for post?
why?

Depends if bulking I do a Brutus shake, 1cup milk, 2 scoops protein, 1 banana, 1/4-1/2c natty peanut butter. With some crushed ice and blend it up. Need to add a little water or more milk.
I sometimes drink water and some dextrose before the shake for recovery but haven't really stuck to that or proved to myself it works

ive never really experimented with the whole dextrose post workout theory only because I would rather use my calories for whole food post workout. always wondered if anyone has found good results from iit

Do you think the dextrose helps recovery?
Hard to tell when your recovery is enhanced with AAS. I'm sure the 'study brigade' would have all kinds of information for and against. I find it helpful when i am consistently supplementing with Isolate and dextrose PWO. I do notice being less wiped out after legs especially the next day.

Nothing specific, no fancy rituals or specific meals / supplements for me. I sometimes go a couple hours or longer post workout without eating a meal, just don't have the appetite sometimes. I'm sure the compensation effect of waiting longer to eat protein PWO might even have some benefits, but I don't really care about that. Personal preference.

Since you mention this WC the main reason i take anything PWO is because I'm fucking famished and the Smarties candies i use for dextrose are delicious ;)
I usually put down a solid meal within 90 minutes of training including my Smarties and Isolate.

I just switched to whole foods post workout with a carb drink for some extra carbs. I've only been doing this a week but I really like it, and I feel like my pump stays a bit longer. And doesn't leave me feeling gassy like shakes do.

Usually a shake straight up then 6 eggs in an omelette when I get home. Seems to work for me and doesn't leave me all weighed down.
