Harris County couple alleges lack of warnings on antidepressant led to son's death
by John Suayan | Nov. 29, 2016, 1:43pm

HOUSTON – Harris County residents Charles and Mary Brennan are suing Powder City, LLC after their son perished from allegedly using a drug marketed and sold by the company.

Charles and Mary Brennan filed a lawsuit Nov. 23 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against show that Colby Patrick Brennan purchased an order of Tianeptine from Powder City in late July 2015.

The drug, which is an antidepressant, purportedly carried no warnings and entirely inadequate instructions.

Per recent court papers, Colby Patrick Brennan took the Tianeptine on the morning of July 28, 2015 and died later the same day.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences investigated the younger Brennan’s death and determined that his passing was caused by “the toxic effects” of the drug.

“The Tianeptine drug was unreasonably dangerous in view of the defendant’s failure to provide adequate warnings and instructions regarding its safe usage, and the unreasonably dangerous nature of the was a producing cause of the decedent’s death,” the suit says.

Consequently, Colby Patrick Brennan’s estate seeks unspecified monetary damages.

Attorney Steve E. Couch of the law firm Kelly, Sutter & Kendrick, P.C. in Houston is representing the plaintiffs.

While it mentions use only by properly trained professionals, that still suggests human use, worse yet consumer use.

They didn't have any "Research Use only", "not for human use" disclaimer.

Thats AWFUL!!!!! As soon as it says 'research use only' I throw that shit out, definitely wouldn't want to take something with a disclaimer.

Powder city is one of a few...
Nice article
As long as they can keep on geting new frontmen, they keep operating with different names, until the new company gets an FDA warning letter.
By the way does the FDA employees surf the web all day looking for unregistered companies/products? Or do they operate on tips they receive (even if they were tipped off by competitors)?

I took a look at the companies mentioned in the article
Most Supplementastic categories link to powdercity, what a joke.
Nootropics info sells the same products (racetams, adrafinil) powdercity did, with an almost identical disclaimer.

Nootrobox sells few products, like 6 or so
Omega 3 and some BS. Probably they got a warning letter, got scared and dropped most products as a result.

It says credit cards dropped Ceretropic business
they link to smarternootropics, again what a joke
they sell some peptides but hold a 'for research purposes only' disclaimer.

IMO in the near future Credit Cards will stop doing business with all nootropic/peptide companies, no matter if touted as 'Research purposes only' or not.
Besides bitcoin, RCs will end up outsourcing payments overseas (and perhaps customer service as well), with domestic delivery.

I wonder why/how the FDA (not the DEA AFAIK) got a search warrant for Awakebrain.com It doesn't mention arrests, or seized powders or equipment. But the website is still down. Some say it was picamilon, but it isn't a DEA scheduled substance.
