PPLR VS PPLPPLR

Through many years of bro split variations I gave into the PPL variation about a year ago and am making the best gains so far by a large margin. I have been doing PPLPPL then rest the 7th day so 6 days on 1 off but every now and then feel like I may be over doing it. I'm curious those of you who do the PPL training format do you rest every 3 days or 6?
 
My split is

Back/Chest
Shoulders/Arms
Legs
Repeat
Sunday off

I literally only do two exercises per muscle group

I always feel like I'm over doing, yet every time I go back I'm fine and even stronger.
