Prefiltering twice with a 0.45 will make oil thinner?

While prefiltering is great to prevent vegetable particulate matter from clogging the 0.22 filter
it doesn't make oil any thinner, does it?

Just curious as I read it in 2 different boards.

Never tried it, but I would have to think it largely depends on the grade/filtration level of the oil you purchased?

The more large organic materials in the oil when you start, the less after filtering, but once you have passed a filter size once, no additional "stuff" should be left to increase viscosity...

no, how would it make it thinner?

only thing it might do is make filtering through the 0.22um easier, but that's a dumb way of doing things, imo, since you're filtering twice, and the 0.22 makes the 0.45 meaningless

for pre-filtering is not needed 0.45 filter, but 1. filter . Mechanic particles ( vegetable parts etc ) are not so small like bacteria.
Anyway, different in viscosity between pre-filtered and no-prefilterd oil is negligible - if your filtering volume is not big.
