One of the main reasons I decided to step up from TRT is because I kept getting hurt moving patients. They harp on proper body mechanics, proper equipment, and “lifting with your firefighters”, but the truth is sometimes you’re gonna be forced to grip it and rip it and there’s no good way to do it. Sterons help me have the strength to throw my patients around without blowing my back out, and I have the benefit of enhanced recovery in the event I get injured anyway. I love EMS to death but this shit is brutal and half the people at my station limp around like the crooked man and have nagging back injuries. I didn’t want to end up like that.
