Privacy issues with Lab Tests

I recently spoke to someone who took blood tests from privatemdlabs.

He paid this with his own monies online.

When he went to visit his primary Dr about 2 weeks later, his primary doctor was able to access his bloodwork from Labcorp (one of the providers who does the blood tests).

Many people don't want to tell their doctors they are on something. Currently, there is a ton of integration with medical records happening being linked to each person. Not everyone has a script and many people won't qualify for one.

Anyone run into this scenario and how did you handle it so your data was privy only to you ?

I know in the past not related to aas but when i had back surgeries if i wanted other doctors to see my information there was always a signature required otherwise it was between them. Another instance would be at a pain management clinic they would have forms you would have to sign so that they could access your medical records to make sure you dont doctor shop... did you read the fine print in the form? I could be mistaken since its blood i dont know if it is automatically linked in the system for cdc purposes or something. Finally if none of that pertains could it be because he went and got the blood test, instead he should get a non primary physician to do the blood test. Thatz weird because by me the lab has to send my endo the results she cant access them by herself. Hope some of that helps bro

Labcorp allows online access to the data not sure who your doctor uses but this is all being digitized very fast.

If you have an endo your doing better than most here.

The big issue is what will that data be used for ?

Denying you life insurance or charging you a higher premium because your test / bloods fall within the category of "juicer."

Just trying to stay off the radar

HIPPA laws protect your privacy in the US. Always read the medical release form/release of information form prior to signing. More importantly do not provide your Doctors information if at all possible; unless you want them to see your labs.

Did your friend give his Physician's info to the lab? I NEVER would of tested with PrivateMDLabs if I knew it would of been sent to anyone other than me. I even made sure confirm it before going through with the test. This is on their FAQ.

Are the results confidential?
We will always maintain strict confidentiality regarding your lab results and your personal information. Your physician or insurance company will not receive a copy of your lab results.

I'm in Public Safety and am required to give access to my medical history to potential employers, access to my blood tests could completely fuck me over. I'll be going for a second test next week and will confirm with them.

What happened is that privatemdlabs was used but Labcorp ( huge subcontractor by me ) was the company who drew blood and did the testing.

The doctor was able to see all labs by Labcorp online by patient name I think which included bloods done post cycle after pct ( so they were normal ).

The doctor also uses Labcorp when he prescribes tests ( yearly lipids test )so it's maybe luck that he saw those tests.

I'll report in a few weeks with an update when I get bloods done and speak to them.

I am thinking Johnny's approach is best.. use fake info. Be John Doe I mean they don't need to id you to draw blood it's not a bank.

You should contact Private MD labs - or have your lawyer do so. Labcorp should not release your records to a third party, ever. PMD specifically promises your doc will not see your test results.

Most of my self-ordered tests are via a different id/passport, but I have some I ordered through PMD under my US id, so I could hand them to my doc (he had refused to perform the tests). I checked "Labcorp Beacon" which should have all the records my doc has access to, and the ones ordered under PMD were not there. Has anyone else tried this?
