Hey guys,

Being from Massachusetts, privateMD and labcorp services are not available. For the past year or so, I've been scouring the interwebs for info on how to get private bloodwork done. If there was any discussion in any forum, I've read it. I must have reached the end of the internet looking for some real information for us in these outlawed states.

Most promising of the info was basically to go to a neighboring state, but it was still not too much actual information other than "Just go bro, they don't check ID." So after giving up on finding more detailed info, I decided to take a chance in New Hampshire.

Last month, I went to privatemdlabs and ordered a gift certificate using my real information and address. Then I checked out a female hormone panel ($62.99) and used the gift card code, then filled out the patient information with a random NH address. You then have a few months to walk in at any time, with no appointment. Technically you should go to the lab that you chose during check out, but apparently you can also go to any lab (in the legal states).

In their FAQ, it says:
  • Will I be required to show ID?
The staff members at the Patient Service Centers are required to ask for ID. We are not able to request that you not show ID.
(Sounds like, legally hinting that you don't have to show ID...) Anyway, I brought my passport just in case and prepared to give some spiel about having just moved to NH.

So I get to the lab in NH, and sit in the waiting room, receptionist points and asks for the paperwork which I had in my hand (you print it out from the confirmation email), then 5 min later he calls me in to get the blood drawn. That's it. No ID check, and less than 24 hours later, I had my results in the email (everything looks good!).

Does this mean no one will get ID checked? No. Lady in front of me got hers checked, but she kinda volunteered it. So your mileage may vary but it seems like a relaxed atmosphere where even if you didn't have ID or showed a different state ID, you could talk your way in (they already know you paid for it). So go get your blood work done!

On a side note, it's a business trying to make money, and they have to be stupid to not know people come across the border to do this all the time. So you'll be fine.

If you are going in for a drug test for a potential employer they will ID you if you paid for your own test and have your paperwork handy they won't in my experience.

I've never been asked for id, I made friends with the lady who works there, she got to know me from going for so many tests, lol. I'm not one of the states that don't allow it though.
