Problem with Androgel and Lifestyle

Androgel does not fit my lifestyle very well. It is almost impossible for me to go 5-6 hours without showering. I usually get to the gym in the mid morning and by the time I leave its around noon. I've been applying the androgel after my post workout shower. Then, after my workout, I get involved in some type of activity that will necessitate another shower anywhere from 1-5 hours later. How to you other guys deal with this problem? Would it be OK to apply the Androgel before bed?....That way I can do whatever I need to do during the day and shower as often as I need.

I suppose it would depend if you sleep alone or not...I personally wouldn't want to be rubbing testosterone all over my wife or girlfriend. :)

I delt with the problem by switching to weekly testosterone cypionate shots. I disliked the Androgel because:
1) Applying it in the morning was not convenient
2) I sweat alot, turning the Androgel into goo
3) Androgel was disruptive to my sex life, because it effectively required me to shower first.
4) Androgel is way too expensive. When Solvay purchased Androgel from UNIMED, they quadrupled the price. While technically I would have paid the same copayment regardless of the price increase, I consider the cost of Androgel too much for what it is.

I prefer the shots because:

1) Shots are cool (I'm being honest)
2) Convenience
3) Price. High quality testosterone cypionate is available from Watson
4) In my opinion, the results from testosterone cypionate are more consistant over the long term than that of the transdermals

Don't get me wrong. The transdermals have their place; but that place just isn't on _my_ skin.

I was on Androgel for about 8 months before just giving up on it. It worked semi-OK, but was a huge pain. I was always worried about my wife and little girl as well. Now on cypionate shots about 200 mg every 12-14 days. I got the Watson brand from my pharmacy and one vial lasts about 5 months. The needles were dirt cheap - I got a case from the pharmacy as well for next to nothing. IMHO shots are the way to go.

I agree with everyone else and was on Androgel for about 8 months before switching to the Testosterone Cyprionate injections. I will add that it probably isn't necessary to wait a full 5-6 hours. There were some posts a while back that indicated three hours would be fine.
