Proper cleaning to reuse a TRT vial

Hey everyone!

I travel frequently for work and am currently on TRT. My prescribed test has run out, so to save cost, I'm going to switch to UGL.

When traveling, I want to refill my original pharmacy vial just to limit risk. The original stopper is breaking down from all the syringe pokes, so the aluminum crimp and stopper will need replaced. In doing so, what is the best way to wash and sanitize the vial without destroying the label? I could wash it with 99.9% iso alcohol but I have a feeling there might be a better way. Let me know what you guys think

99.9% iso alcohol

I believe that is is sufficient. To each his own though.

it’s going to be more trouble than it’s worth to clean inside the vial without ruining the label

plus you should probably bake the vial before reusing it

I've thought about that as well. That might be the best option, but I only get one shot with a heat gun lol

This is what I would do.


Plus, A rx vial with a bunch of holes through the stopper would probably be sketchy looking and make it suspicious.

I remove any labels from a UGL vial and put the vial into the box with the script sticker on it

So the rx vial had a shiny vinyl style label which made it really easy to remove once I heated it up. I put it on a piece of paper and scanned it just in case I needed to print it again but I applied it to a new sterile vial pretty easy. Worked like a champ
