Proper technique for transferring oils

I recently bought some oils and transferred them via needle into a 50ml sealed vial..........problem is I see a small black object floating around in the vial. I am thinking that it is a piece of the rubber stopper. Is this normal or did I fuck up.
Please let me know............and also give me the proper technique for transferring from container to vial.
Thanks

If you are worried about contamination, put in a vent needle and bake it a 250 for 20 minutes. If it is to small to suck up the needle then leave it in there. When you transfer to a sealed vial, put in a vent needle.

did you use a new serile vial?i have seen some stoppers break up like that.when you are doing that just be sure to put a venting pin in the new bottle to keep the pressure consistant.if you jab an 18 in and out of a bottle it could knock a piece off.use a 10cc or larger barrel to minimize the sticks.

Thanks,
I figured it was a piece of the rubber stopper, just wanted to make sure that was ok. I did not know about the vent needle and am glad to have learned about that. I did use a small syringe which was a bad idea for the amount of sticks it took to transfer the oils and will not do that again. The vial was sealed and sterile...so I am assuming it is ok.

Get you a 20g needle, and new vial and suck it all out using a whatman filter, and put it into the new vial. Simple.:D
