+1 protein in urinalysis last month. Ran right to the nephrologist. He didn’t seem concerned. Ordered another urinalysis and labs with cystatin c and its own eGFR, which, is apparently different from the usual eGFR. DR confirmed normal eGFR is useless for most of us, as mine is typically in the mid 50s. New urinalysis showed protein again. Labs showed elevated potassium(same as labs from 2 weeks prior), DR wrote it off to ibuprofen. Creatinine kinase was ordered and came back at over 1800, which is alarming. DR said it’s not atypical for people who engage in strenuous exercise. Cyststin c came back perfect and that eGFR came back at 99. Kidneys are fine. Point of all this is to implore you all to go get these tests run. Don’t be reckless. Who else has had elevated CPK and how can it be reduced aside from rest?
