I've noticed Proton has a bitcoin wallet now and I'm just wondering how safe/secure this is compared to others out there?

I don’t see any reason to use proton wallet over exodus or one if the other proven wallets that have been around for a while. If you want secure get a Trezor hardware wallet.

KYC - know your client - means face, tax information and shit is submitted to the government in your region.

NonCust is void of KYC

The government can take a long hard drag on my asshole as far as I'm concerned.

NonCust is a must

Always use a VPN with GPS off.... Give me a transaction ID or your wallet I'll tell you your balance, transaction history, and anything else you are dumb enough to have left out in the open. Block chain is NOT secure. BTC is like here's my bank statement good sir.

What does none custodial mean exactly?

non-custodial means you and only you have the keys. Vs custodial where someone else owns the keys.
Think of it like keeping cash in a safe at home that only you have access to vs money in the bank that the bank can monitor, freeze & you have to make a request to the bank before you’re allowed to spend it.

In the crypto world Coinbase is the bank (custodial) and Trezor / Exodus is your safe at home.

If you have a pretty chunk of crypto get a hardware wallet. If you just want to move some coin to pay for your hobby get a software aka hot wallet
