very true statement, they did "help" me at a certain point in my life, but the more i understand the long term effects of these type drugs, the more i wanted to be off of them, Now i feel better and more alive than ever, It goes to show that your brain chemistry does change as you get older,, ime anyway,,,,

The literature suggests that suicidal and homicidal ideation increase exponentially with antidepressant use among teens. This isn’t a random correlation like ice cream and drownings. There isn’t a warning label on the ice cream tub that says “may increase aggression. Talk to your doctor if you have thoughts of suicide”.

That is based off of people who do not understand the how it works.

Increased chance of suicide is seen at the initiation of therapy at about 2-3 weeks.


Suicide chance is also increased in people that needs to be on meds and aren't.

So yes. Correlation and causation does apply to your statement

Not to pile on but if you're currently living with your parents at 30, and you haven't gotten your own place/done your own thing yet, then I'm inclined to think that your parents and your doctors are probably right and you should take a look at yourself and have a real big self evaluation.

You say that your parents think TRT is drugs.. Well, it is! No judgement there, I use it too. But from your parents perspective, their 30 year old son is aggressive, injecting himself with steroids, and is still living with them... Why wouldn't they have concerns dude?
