PT-141 in Clinical Trials w/ Tirzepatide

Thought some of you guys might find this interesting. The company who created PT-141 (Bremelanotide) just finished Phase 2 trials studying the combo of PT-141 + Tirz for obesity. Data expected later this quarter according to the press release. Something interesting to look out for.

They're also trying to make an oral melanocortin-4 agonist (mechanism of action for MT-2 and PT-141), and a weekly injectable MC4 agonist, both for obesity. They're really pushing the obesity with this thing. If you only the FDA would be cool with MT-2 + Tirz. Overnight bestseller that would rip chicks out of high-waisted jeans and into bikinis.

I'm familar with MT2 but not PT-141. Anyone have some thoughts on this, happens to know a little about what's going on at Palatin?

So PT-141 in this case just help reducing craving and the desire to binge eating or what exactly is the mechanism?

PT and MT-2 lower appetite (I don't know why). Not hugely, but certainly a noticeable amount. I always feel more energetic on either.
I wish. I always feel a bit more lethargic on both. More so with MT-2 than PT. I also find the urge to "stretch and reach" as though I had been in car too long. The second effect is odd but definitely happens every time I use either one, but that effect is more pronounced with PT.

I'm also curious why they chose to combine PT with Tirzepatide. PT-141 is already FDA approved for low sexual arousal for women, but I have no idea if they're trying to capitalize on that aspect of the drug.

The "stretch", "self grooming behavior", "yawning" are hypothesized to be associated with the libido effect these compounds have on the brain, stimulating sex signaling behavior. It's observed in other mammals given the drugs too.

It's definitely interesting. I figured it had to be related to something going on in my head or maybe a CNS effect at work in the background.

These unconscious behaviors diminish with age, and, especially in males, skin tone pales as melanocortin receptor agonism diminishes. This "paling out" is hypothesized to be a signal of poor mating potential.

Testosterone plays a role in this skin tone sexual signaling as well. Some new users of steroids notice this especially in darkening of the hands. It's because testosterone increases the number of melanocytes (pigmentation skin cells), enlarges and elongates them.
