Never done this but was wondering if anyone had any experience with a regiment of push ups in the mornings daily regardless of what the routine is for training as to if it would hinder one's growth but I really like waking up to nothing big just like 400 push ups to get me going any feed back would be great thanks

Yes did 500-700/ day when I was younger and locked up and didn't know much about training. Imo it's a good way to tear your elbows up, but if you can do them I think you should maybe 3 mornings a week just make sure you don't train chest same day

400 every morning seems like alot to me, I would have to work up to that. If youre on a cycle I cant see pushups hindering your recovery. I like them for a warm up or finisher too. When Im cutting Ill do pushups like 3 to 5 times a week in high volume. And I dont bang them out like a madman, I take my time for every single one. I prefer atlas pushups with a variety of angles.

I use pushups as a finisher for chest/upper body day and do as many as I can till I fail (usually 40-60)

Specifically. I cross my feet to get more work towards the chest and tris. I hit three failure points this way. Then i do them from knees. For another three failure points. Complete annihilation lol

I shall have to try this crossed leg method

Yea I was in the army before I went to the joint so I had a lot of time where push ups were all I had but I've never tried to cycle train and do them but in my line of work it's Sun up to Sun down finishing concrete but I'm taking a job at the airport getting to old to pull that straight edge everyday but thank s guys I'm definitely going to incorporate them as a finisher but I'm slow in the mornings up at 4:30 to be out the door at 7 coffee and me time before the hellins wake up 3 boys 2 girls

Have you tried the hindu push ups incorporated with a dive bomber? alternate back and forth. Try them wearing a back pack with 60 pounds of weight.

And this. Dive bombers and Tyson push-ups are great

Another thing I have done in the past is do them with a 45lb plate on my back. Worked up to 4 sets of 20 or so. But prefer to do them these days as finishers only.

I used to do a lot of pushups.. Before I got in to lifting like now I used to do sets of 50 to 75 and I would do lots during the day.. Like if I had downtime I would stop do 50.. I tell you what they did do.. I think they give me a great base before I started lifting, I have pretty big arms and chest for my age and for me not to bench a huge amount( 315) max..but most importantly too me at the time was I dropped close to 50lbs with just pushups and walking. With that being said I was really heavy at the time and had never workout in my life with weights.. So I will be adding pushups to my routine the next couple months seeing I'm trying to cut some weight b4 spring

I do em with my IBA (body armor) when I'm gettin ready for an APFT. Got me up to 123 push ups in 2 minutes on the test.

Nice tip and I would try doing them like that.

I just started incorporating negatives on pushups in my sets. I hit a set of incline bb press for 8-12 reps, then go directly to a set of flat db flys, then straight to a set of pushups for as many as I can do (which is about 15 reps after all the other shit in front of them) Now once you can no longer do pushups, you use your knees and feet to get back to the top and lower yourself in a 6-8 sec negative, then repeat until you can no longer even do the negatives. It's hit that chest DEEP buddy!!!

I don't really see the point in doing 400 every morning. If your going to do a pushing exercise I think a pulling exercise is also necessary. Maybe dips and pull ups every morning if you want, but just training a push movement daily without pulling movements will create imbalances.

Pushups will blow your chest up and you can do them every day.. volume training
You just gotta eat enough..

Some guys I was in the corp with did them
all the time and had nice chests..

I do a modified pushup
