Unless you tore it from the bone, I agree you should have it looked at. after 4months it should be better.
If you lift with it start out extremely light with everything.
After my knee surgery I started our squatting just the bar and did it twice a week, Increasing the weight week to week. After a year I'm up to 385 for 12 reps, my goal is 405 for 12. I will be there soon, about 6 more weeks.
