Title says it all. I go to my general physician for my TRT (better than nothing but I wish she'd refer me to an Endo).

When getting bloodwork every few months she test all of the standard stuff like glucose fasting hemoglobin hemocrit etc etc etc but when it comes down to trt the only thing she tests for is testosterone total. When I asked her if we can also test for testosterone free she almost took offense to it thinking that I know better than her
(which even as a novice I think do after being on it for 2 years + and reading this forum for a year)

She is a jack of all trades and master of none she has even admitted she doesn't have many testosterone patients I reckon I'm the only one to be honest.

At first she wanted to do a injection every 2 weeks I finally got her to down to doing it once a week!

Another thing is I have to go in and see her once a week whereas I know friends that have other doctors that allow them to administer it themselves at home she is just so ridiculous when it comes to this stuff. Said I would need a nurse to do that. (LOL)

So, 2 years on TRT and my doctor only checks Total T, what else should she be checking for?

Total Test
Free Test
SHGB
What else?

Ultrasonic of the heart once a year due to vascular wall thickening
Liver
kidneys
Inflammation values
You can have a retinal vascular analysis at the ophthalmologist to check your blood vessels

Complete metabolic panel (CMP), Complete blood count (CBC), lipids, estradiol (e2). That covers the basics. You can get crazy with checking a million and 1 things but these plus test give you a decent snapshot to start

With TRT, I would advise you to set the dose interval to shorter intervals. This will help you to avoid hormone fluctuations that occur in peaks and troughs. Which in turn reduces the side effects

The half-life of enanthate is about 6 days so once every two weeks is total crap for your body. Take a low dose twice a week.
E.g. if i have test e 250mg/ml, then i would take 0.3ml on Monday and 0.3ml on Friday. So i have 150mg test a week. Keep your level constant and you are doing everything right.
