Question about usps track and confirm

My source sent out my package last thurday afternoon and then sent me a tracking number. I checked the track and confirm site everyday since and today it says that the item was accepted Friday early in the morning. I have not recieved anything. ON the site it says that items are tracked from acceptance through transit and on to delivery! What the hell does acceptance mean?

ON the site it says that items are tracked from acceptance through transit and on to delivery! What the hell does acceptance mean?

Acceptance is when the DC# was first scanned, or when handed over to the clerk. Delivery confirmation only shows when accepted and delivered. It does not track like express, where it shows total tracking including in transit.
