I have no complaints with the shoes, only praise, but bear in mind that this is my first pair of real weightlifting shoes and I have nothing to compare it to. The real beauty of these shoes is when you have a few hundred pounds in your hands or on your back and you have to move your feet. A cross trainer squishes like a marshmellow making you feel like you're going to rock back on your heels or you strain to find your groove because your feet are not totally in position. With the ironworks, when you take a step, your footing is sure, and there is no squish, you can find your groove easier and not jerk around ....which should mean less chance of a minor pull or strain from trying to make a bad stance good by correcting the lack of groove with minute adjustments of your muscles. Thats really the best way to put it, you dont feel like you have to work to balance yourself, when you plant your feet, you're done, and you can focus on your lift.
They are great. I do not walk around in them except when on the rubber floor and I only wear them when I am doing some kind of floor movement. They seem like they will last forever. Mine have absolutely no wear whatsoever thus far. You dont want to wear them to the gym and take them over concrete and asphalt, they have a crepe rubber sole that looks prone to wear so its best to go to the gym in your normal shoes and change once you get there.
I think its a good investment. You are buying them from dynamic-eleiko.com right??? He was in the $ 130 range. USA Weightlifting doesnt have them...they only sell the EQT shoes.
