I am seperating my meals either p/c or p/f but how close togther can I eat them?
I am eating e 3hrs, But I need to increase cals again and figured that it would be easier to just add more meals.
Thanks
Dan

It makes no difference, food combining (like you mentioned) is crap and offers no real benefits over regular eating.

I am doing the same thing....I seperate my meals and eat every 3 hours.

If you are looking for more calories......just add 2 or 3 tablespoons of olive oil to your fat/protein meals. And force that food down the hatch.

How do you know you have poor insulin sensitivity? Self diagnosis or from a physician?

I agree with Bob. It's just a gimmick, but I'm sure it will still work for you. I just think that it will be harder than a balanced diet to maintain.

I mean, look at it right now, you're already wondering if you'll be eating too close to your last meal.

Barring any change in diet plan, then a good, quick method would be to eat meat that's higher in fat than other choices. That will increase your overall calories. So would sucking down a shot or two of olive oil. I don't know if he has a prohibition against PB, but you can munch a spoonful or 20 of that for quick calories(though it may have too many carbs for your purpose).

On the carb section, I don't see why you couldn't just double your oatmeal/pasta/bread/whatever you eat.

Those are my suggestions

I figured that I had poor insulin sensitivity because even when I eat oatmeal I feel like I need a nap an hour later

Why would you be eating carbs if they do that to you? Does that also happen post-workout?

Even John Berardi admits that there is no science backing up the P+F and P+C thing...he just says it's "good" theory.

I dont get tired from either post or post post wo only from M1 and M3
m1 p+c
m2 P+f
m3 p+c
m4 P+f
wo
post
postpost
m7 P+F

Would it be better to only eat carbs post wo?

No. Post workout really should only be c+p. Depending on exactly what youre trying to accomplish, I would include some fat with every meal. But you may just not respond to carbs very well and should reduce them accordingly. I do better athletically and feel better physically when I am on a reduced or low carb nutrition plan.

Thanks Bob smith and frosty

Since I am lowering my carbs earlier in the day should I increase the fat in the meals to make up for the cals? That should also even out the insulin spike too right?

Lowering your quantity of carbs will lower the insulin released. Whether you increase fat amd protein cals depends on your goals.
