Looks like Ive been missing out on a really fun conversation!

Who else thinks that all ethnic-only grants, scholarships, subsidies, etc should be eliminated? *raises hand* People should receive based on merit, not because they wear a certain skin color. Its ok for non-whites to have their own things, but when there is a white-only scholarship (Roger Williams University - RI), it makes national headlines and gets everyones panties in a twist. So much for equality.

Maybe we can have an intelligent conversation about that and then talk about how the white man keeps everyone down. I started that thread and it got very ugly and since this has seemed to peak already maybe we can talk in a non hatred driven fashion.

I had entitled the thread The United White Boy College Fund" as sort of a spoof on the commercials you see for the Negro one but the Roger Williams students that started this fund got a lot of heat and a lot of support and Im not talking about the Arians. The point was more as Bob said about abolishing these types of grants altogether and have them based on merit and if NOT the whites should be able to be represented like everyone else.

This has nothing to do with racism but has to do with pride in preserving my heritage. I was having a conversation with two black women a few weeks back and they asked me what kind of girls I liked. They concluded that I did not date outside my race. The one lady said she never did either and never would. I was surprised she said so but I totally agree with her. I'm not offended by that comment and neither should the blacks when they hear whites say the same thing. However they are extremely offended.

My question for you is can a black woman who says she never would date a white guy racist? Based on your argument I would assume it would. Or are black people allowed a double standard?

edit. Also, Hogg made the best point about class. My college only had about a half dozen black people in it. The kid in my class was really cool. Well spoken, fun to be around. I really liked him and knew he was better than several white people i know. On this board we have NUTEBOY. He seems like a real upstanding guy.
