Rapamycin for health span

Have you experience using this drug? I take metformin for health span purposes and I’m looking into Rapamycin, although it seems it could potentially be very dangerous. Suppressing the immune system too much and also inhibiting mTor 2 too much is lethal, is that correct?

I see Peter Attia has been using it for quite some time and also there’s an ongoing study of its use in companion dogs to evaluate its safety.

Would love to hear your experiences

I doubt there are any that have taken it long term to know what real benifits can be had. But in general the less mTOR activity it seems the longer then life span. But les activity is not what most bodybuilders are shooting for.

Yeah although I do read it’s not effected Peter attia’s gym progress. obviously it’s going to be used on a cruise or just full time trt otherwise you’re using gear to up mTor and Rapa to decrease it and probably having net zero mTor movement and wasting both drugs.

while i hear you,. I would guess that the gear would over power the rapa. But it negates much of the reason to take rap i would think. Making it a waste of time. seems getting bigger is on thing that shortens life spans.

Although the 70s era guys reached about 80 years old, or are still alive. And Arnold was still using gear until Terminator 2 which made him 45, he’s 76 now and he was very clear he’d do whatever it took to win. Sure he took 3g cycles and such

I would be surprised it he took that much. At his biggest he was about 240 lb. and did his last Mr.O was closer to 220.At 6'+ And he was not as lean as guys these days. At 5'6 i competed as a light heavyweight in BB my last show and was still a lifetime natural guy. Once i did gear being a heavy weight was no problem, and i ever really pushed he food hard. In my natural years people would routinely ask is i used steroids. Once i started they quit asking as it was obvious. Genetics plays a big difference i find. And it is rare for me to find guys in the gym that actually train hard and are consistent all year long year after year. I can always tell when a popular guru drops his newest secret movement to build muscle as many will be doing it to try to grow muscle more easily. And few ever do. I laugh a lot watching people train. Plus look at how many 70's and 80's era guys have died over the last couple decades and that is just the ones that get reported. The mid level guys stopped being heard from decades ago.
